Family Love

It was days like this that made all the hunting, all the suffering and the pain worth it.

  You’d woken up this morning feeling a bit off, not necessarily upset but looking for some comfort, and instantly went searching for Sam and Dean. Both of whom were your brothers but acted more like your parents with their overprotective tendencies. You opened the door to your room and started scouting the hallways before you ultimately found yourself in the library area.

 Having entered the room from the halls, it took your bleary eyes a second to pinpoint where the other people in the room were but once you did, a few tears appeared out of the blue. In the end, you accepted you just needed some reassurance that everything would be okay. In that case, you fully entered the room and sat down in the chair next to Sam but opposite Dean.

  Both of your brothers raised their eyebrow at your drowsy state but didn’t yet have the information to pinpoint your mood,

  “You alright, sweetheart?” Dean asked, and that’s when the tears started slowly flowing down your face. You brought your hands up to cover your eyes, missing the concerned glance Sam and Dean shot each other. Dean abruptly took action and said “Alright come here, let’s get you some hugs!”

 He stood and made his way over to your side of the table, Sam had abandoned his computer and was now helping you stand up. Dean came to a stop beside you with a questioning look on his face, he reached out to tuck some stray hairs behind your ear.

 Without delaying anything further, Sam grasped you in a big hug and buried his head in your neck whilst your hands flew to the top of his back in a desperate reach. You felt Dean behind you and he, too, joined the group hug. 

  “Are you alright?” Sam asked. You nodded in return and sniffled a bit but still refused to leave the hug.

  “Yeah, just needed a hug, sorry.”

Dean tightened his grip on the both of you. “Don’t ever apologise for having a bad day. Sam and I have them all the time, we just hide it until it gets better. Which doesn’t give you an invitation to hide your feelings from us, but not that you feel pressured or anything, all I’m saying is, I just-okay I’m gonna stop now,” he rambled.

  You all laughed a bit, but feeling as though he was the one who needed some reassurance, you turned to face him and hid your face in his chest. “Don’t worry Dean, I know you don’t like Chick Flick moments. But thanks, both of you. I guess I just wanted something to say the world wasn’t ending… metaphorically or literally.”

 Again, you all chuckled and it was silent for a few seconds before Sam spoke up.

   “We love you, ya know?”

  And with a big smile on your face, you echoed, “Yeah, I love you too.” You knew, even if for a little bit, everything was gonna be okay.

I need hugs to live but it’s hard asking people for hugs as a grown person so thank you I love to receive hugs even store bought virtual hugs will suffice.
