Lost in the glitter of a cosmic jewelry box.
This is Terzan 1, a globular cluster located about 22,000 light-years away in the constellation Scorpius. Captured by the Hubble Space Telescope, this dense swarm of stars is one of the closest clusters to the Milky Way’s busy center.
While some of these stars look like tiny sparks, they are actually ancient suns held together by their own gravity. Talk about a powerhouse neighborhood!
