He was stopped mid-sentence as his eyes picked up sight of the little red light in the distance. Capper didn’t know what got into him, but instantly, he dropped to all four paws in a crouch, looking much more akin to the cats in Equestria than Abyssinia.

The feline stepped very stealthily, each paw very gently stepping on the ground in front of him one by one as he took his time, calculating every little move he made, not wanting to scare his sudden prey away. When he felt he was close enough, he gave his back end a little wriggle, and jumped for it, his two front paws landing precisely on the dot.

“Aha! Gotcha now!” A pause. “Wait - what?!”

A distressed, sort of pathetic sounding mew emitted from his mouth as he lifted a paw up and saw it was gone. His ears flattened against the back of his head in disappointment. There was no way it should have gotten away! He was much too cunning and smooth. What kind of sick joke was this?
