Hullabalab: How Computers Work
Here at Hullabalu, we believe everyone on the team should have the opportunity to learn from each other. From the engineering team to the art team to the writing team, there’s so much talent on-board that we’re always excited for people to share their knowledge.
That’s why, every month, we hold Hullabalab sessions! What is a Hullabalab, exactly? Well, it’s a chance for one of our team members to teach the rest of the group a lesson or skill that pertains to what they work on day-to-day.
This month, our engineers Max and Mike took the reins and taught the team how computers work. We all use computers, but not all of us understand exactly what’s going on inside the big shiny screen staring at us ten hours a day.
But, this stuff isn’t easy. When Max and Mike started explaining computer engineering to us, we were...
As the lab went on, we all started to catch on. We got excited about counting bytes and adding binary numbers. We learned the difference between high-level and low-level languages, and that every important piece of information in a computer is made up of zeroes and ones, or in simpler words: 01001000101010111.
By the end of the Hullabalab, we all had a much greater appreciation for the way our computers function. We might not all be experts yet, but we loved having fun learning such a tough subject!
Thanks to our programming pros for sharing their expertise with us!
Hullabalu Team Out!
