dude. DUDE.
you don't even know how excited i was to answer this when i saw it in the morning. I WAS GENUINELY GOING CRAZZYYYY OVER THISSSS. good god, man. you made me get up from my desk multiple times and i had to pace around. FAWK.
im gonna yap now.
first off, i gotta mention how much i love your artstyle. i love the way you draw bee, ESPECIALLY his distraught expressions. i think the way you represent this human!bee and normal shockwave spinoff is so...perfect. because there's a degree of dehumanization (for the lack of a better word lol) compared to like, the normal version of this au. like, its easy to say that bumblebee could be his child when they're both cybertronians and they both understand each other perfectly and even if there's a difference in their sizes, its not really crazy when you're talking about two cybertronians. ive always written these two and their dynamic to always come with shockwave stripping bumblebee of control and independence, but this version and the way you portrayed them just elavates it soooo much.
like, shockwave's existence is borderline incomprehensible here ok. he's literally an alien, a gigantic war robot, and he wants to???? adopt????? hello??? there's no reassurance from shockwave in this scenario, he doesn't bother articulating his reasons or help bumblebee understand his situation.
i loveee the fact that you made it that they're speaking entirely different languages here, and that shockwave makes no effort to bridge the lack of understanding between them. the choice is almost deliberate, a way to keep things as they are because even if shockwave admits it or not, the care that he has for bumblebee is dependant on the power imbalance that they have.
and houghhh, i just adore the way their first meeting is like...it's monumentally terrifying for bee and its just nothing (at first. lol) to shockwave. SIGHHHH.
you have me typing man.
