I hardly ever do human AUs or even human redesigns but after seeing some other human designs I thought I'd make an attempt with DJ. And then what was supposed to be a quick sketch turned into a three panel comic with a nonsensical backstory, which is below the cut.

Reader and DJ are friends, probably since childhood. Both are into music and frequent a local underground club. DJ is pretty quiet and shy, so he creates the DJ Music Man persona to break himself out of his shell, letting him act more confident during his performances.

Reader doesn't realize DJ Music Man is DJ and is less than impressed with his boisterous attitude when he tries to impress them. DJ realizes this and assumes (incorrectly) that this means Reader would never be into HIM being himself.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for someone trying to be something they're not in order to win the affection of someone they could have just ASKED at any time.

Though, overall, not sure how much I like this story. I prefer DJ to use ASL but there's just no way the mixup would happen if he did. There's little chance of it happening as it is, given that DJ is incredibly tall and huge, just his silhouette would give the game away. I know we all love our dense Reader-inserts but for this story to work the poor thing is gonna have to be doing their perception checks with a 1-sided dice.

Also I know next to nothing about underground music clubs, independent music, DJing, music genres, raving, or music in general really, and that would become PAINFULLY obvious if I wrote this out, assuming it isn't already. :P

Additional note, DJ has 3 younger brothers, triplets, based on the Lil' Music Men.

But yeah. I'm unlikely to create anything else of substance in this AU, so if the design or concept inspires you, then do what you wish with it! :D

Lol was curious how my version of DJmm would react to meeting their version of Djmm. And uh... the convo was based off of an interaction between my and my friend so thus why he reference to the intruders as "sluts." Too bad tumblr did the porn ban or I'd share more.

Concept Sketch of my version of DJmm. His a bit crazy possessive and yandere. He can be really dangerous since at night, he makes webs all over his area to catch any intruders.

I leaned more on the experimental bouncer side since why not.
