Ichigo just keeps growing and growing, to the point where Grimmjow's changed his tank thrice and still he keeps filling in the space until it's a little awkward to swim. And then,,, it gets harder and harder to find him a place in the frat house. Nnoitra doesn't care he brought him in, or that it was supposed to be everyone's 'frat pet'. Where's Grimm supposed to put him? Atop his head? Then Nelliel comes along, she'd already heard about the thing; as a marine biology major, she was intrigued and fascinated. Grimmjow would send her pictures and ask questions about proper care, and Nell helped every time. Then she suggested Grimmjow donate him to the science building at the uni, specifically her major. They already cared for another merfolk there, Harribel a shark mer of a decent size. It'd be perfect, he'd be well cared for and Ichigo would have enough space to grow as much as his body demanded. So Grimmjow agreed, reluctantly, deafetedly-- after watching Ichigo more and more take a rest on the edge of the tank with his arms crossed because swimming was getting clunky again. And Ichigo disagreed, he'd started properly speaking to him near a month ago but it still scared Grimm from time to time; asking if there wasn't anything they could do, something he could do. (As if he could will his body to return it's pocket-sized glory). And Grimmjow found it easier to get angry at the stubborness of the merfolk. It's simply better for him, what's the point in fighting it? And then he goes and starts missing the little shit, rethinking his choice and avoiding Nell like the plague, not daring to visit the science building even though he wishes he would- What would be the point? Ichigo was plenty angry when he left him, he should just leave it to the 'pros'.
