Thinking about how John Doe is canonically a trans allegory... thinking about him in a human body, and if he gets to pick it or not... and if he'd choose to have a visibly trans body or look cis... thinking about human John Doe with top surgery scars that he's proud of, thinking about biggest trans ally ever Arthur Lester and also thinking about the issues off Malevolent being set when it is and how if he's human then, how that would impact Johns trans identity.

Summary:

Kayne tapped a finger against Arthur’s temple impatiently. “Don’t hide those pretty eyeballs! Come on, I want to show you something.”

Within days of arriving back in New York, Kayne delivers a young 11 year old Oscar, fresh from bludgeoning McKenna, to Arthur’s doorstep. Oscar is frightened, unmoored, and grieving his old timeline, but he isn’t alone. Nope, Oscar’s got a pair of odd, enigmatic, kind men who have taken him in. Meanwhile, Arthur struggles with his paternal instincts and fears and John tries to learn how this whole ‘having a body’ thing works — though how human that body really is remains to be seen. Will little Oscar form a family in this new world — and could a particular hospitalized priest be part of it?
