My sister, who is caring for my bird while I'm at college, got head lice. Is there any chance she can pass it to my bird, and how dangerous is it for him?

As far as I know human head lice is quite specific in that it can only survive on us, it doesn’t affect dogs, cats, rodents, or birds.  Birds can get their own variety of lice but not human head lice.  Still a good idea to keep clean, wash hands before handling the bird, don’t let them nibble her hair and things like that just in case the bugs carry anything that may infect the bird, they aren’t really known for spreading diseases but it’s still good to be safe about it.
