I decided to play Phighting on a whim a few days ago because I kept on seeing it pop up on my dash, and I absolutely love it!! I wound up blasting through the comic a few hours after I first played and I'm still scrounging around the wiki for the lore, lol.

Anyways, I was wondering how Inphernal biology would work in-universe, especially in contrast to human biology. Most of these were vibes-based instead of science-based, though. I mostly just wanted to focus on making them and humans to be just that bit more alien to one-another, y'know?

A part of me wants to make either a self-insert or reader-insert fic where a human randomly gets blasted to the Phighting world and is forced to hole up with one of the characters to survive (probably Sword). Though, I should probably avoid making it until after I get back to work on my other fic where a human reader-insert gets isekaied and has to stick with a canon character in order to survive off of the land itself and avoid getting killed, all while in awe over the culture and landscape and dealing with an insurmountable language barrier to boot.

...Y'know, something tells me that I have a strong preference for certain tropes, but I just can't put my finger on it...

(Also, this was supposed to be some simple art made quick just to get my ideas across, but I didn't realize that Procreate had added in so many new brushes until I booted it up for this. Decided that I might as well test some of them out alongside a couple new rendering techniques while I was at it, and I'm super proud of how it came out!!)

I recently found this blog, and I love your writing and art.. I wonder how inphernals would react to human history, and vice versa. It'd be interesting.

Also how they'd view eachother. Like how do certain cultures view the other species on both sides. This goes for anatomy, culture, religion, history, etc. I'm interested to see how to develop this. (No pressure, if it sounds like it.)

I think Subspace would consider us "dumb but find some things we've made interesting. Banhammer would look down on us, I know that with no doubt in my mind..

WAHGGGG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Seeing long asks and comments like these make me smile sm :] Making all these little notes and ideas about how different or similar human and Inphernal societies are is super fun, and I'm glad to hear that there's people out there that like my yapping as much as I do :D

Humans and Inphernals definitely have some... strange interpretations of each other compared to reality. To an Inphernal, a human is small and squishy of course, but they can also extend that idea to them being stupid or gullible. It doesn't help that some of the old Inphernal fairytales have creatures described similarly to humans that were basically a bunch of cute looking idiots.

(As a matter of fact, several human fairytales include creatures similar to Inphernals, acting terrifying and murderous. Hm...)

Anyways, that can kinda lead to a lot of Inphernals sort of infantilizing humans, especially the more protective ones. That leads to the awkward (and kinda funny) situation where an Inphernal that thinks that humans are inherently "more innocent" learns about the grittier details of human history. It's like if you found out that Care Bares are real and host regular public executions.

Though, I haven't thought about their thoughts about religion until you brought it up. Like, obviously humans would be freaked out at seeing a literal deity in person, but I'm only now realizing how much funnier it would be. For some reason I have the really specific image in my head of an atheist human talking to an Inphernal about their beliefs, not knowing that they're talking to one of the Swords.

Also, yessss!! Subspace would probably find humans to be a waste of energy to deal with outside of their fascinating immunity to the crystals. I mean, outside of that one novelty, how else would they be useful to him?

But I do really like the idea that he can occasionally find something that we've made interesting. While the most obvious and in-character answers would be some sort of fascinating invention or scientific discovery, I just think it would be really funny if he was. like. an MLP fan or just really likes desk doohickeys or something, lol

Also while I do think that Banhammer would look down at us (professional human hater), I'm just SUPER fond of the idea that there's one (1) human that he likes. That's his ONLY exception. (Bonus points if that human is a child.)

would a human still be taller than Valk..? Like I know inphernals are meant to be bigger than humans according to your headcannons but I gotta whether to not the mantle of shortest person here has been taken

Unfortunately for Valk, his title of "shortest man in the Inpherno" shall forever remain uncontested.

In full seriousness though, I've thought about this for a little while, and my current idea is that he's slightly shorter than the average human. Him hearing about this "super tiny and squishy" species hanging around and seeing that he's still shorter than most of them would definitely bruise his ego, he's still bigger than the shorter ones.

Honestly, I could see his smaller stature as being a sort of comfort to any humans that find themselves in the Inpherno. It makes him far less intimidating, especially when compared to the absolute Goliath that is his brother. That, combined with his overall friendly and playful demeanor, would probably make him one of the more approachable Inphernals for a human to be around.

Although I'm not really into isekai tropes, I always thought humans would be immune to crystals in general!! Like, they wouldn't get healed, poisoned, or... frozen? by them.

In full seriousness though, I think that this is a cool headcanon! It's a super specific trope, but I always find it interesting when humans/any non-magical species has some sort of unique side-effects when interacting with it, including not being affected by it at all.

Heya! Quick update for y'all: It's currently finals week for me rn and I'm in the middle of a comic tourney, so I haven't been able to do a whole lot of art outside of all that recently.

I do have some things planned in the future regarding human-inphernal stuff, though! The main thing right now is answering an ask that was wondering what each of the characters' thoughts would be on humans.

I thought that this would be a fun excuse to finally draw every character and work in an art style I've been meaning to experiment with for a while! I already made Sword and Skateboard's thoughts a couple weeks back, but I haven't been able to finish any others yet. I wanted to wait until I was done to show them off here, but I might as well do it now, just to give y'all a sneak peek :3c

I'm aiming to at least to all of the Phighters, but I hope to do all of the NPCs as well! (Mayyybe even the DITF exclusive cast, but that's less likely.)

(Yawns) Hey guys I'm back from my 30 minute nap (checks current date) OH SWEET SANTAS SARSAPARILLA!!!

I'm so sorry for dropping off the face of the earth like that y'all </3 It wasn't for anything big, just a mix of procrastination, school stress, and working on some of my own projects.

I am still planning on coming back to Human-Inphernal art and worldbuilding sometime soon, though! I still think about it a lot, and there are a whole bunch of ideas rattling in my head for it. I even have an outline written for a short fic with a disguised human, lol.

Other than that though, there's been a couple of other things that I've been up to while I was gone! Most of it is stuff with OCs over on EnterVOID, so I'll put my ramblings under the cut here.

I've been working on some stuff with my OCs for OC battling! For folks who don't know, OC battling is where you and another artist challenge each other to a duel and you both write/draw/animate both of your characters interacting with each other in some way, all under a time limit. It works as a challenge to improve yourself, a way to finally tell stories with your OCs, and as an art trade since you'll both get to see what the other person did with your own character!

There are a bunch of different ways this could go about, like Original Character Tournaments or websites specifically dedicated to them like EnterVOID or Hyun's Dojo. I'm trying to do comics on Void rn and even made a few while I was gone :]

I have a couple others on the site, but here's my main character, Felix! He's a robot with super strength that looks like a teenager/young adult, but is actually 11 years old, lol.

I made a couple of comics with him, like this silly short one since I was gone from the site for a while.

I also finished up a battle with a super cool artist named Fuu a couple weeks back! You can find both of our entries over here - I HIGHLY recommend checking out their side of the battle! I love the way they write, especially their dialogue <3 Also the height difference between my character and theirs is hysterical LMAO

I'm planning on doing some more comics soon too, so I might post them up here. (I'll probably give my Void stuff its own special tag so people who're here just for my Phighting stuff can filter it out if they like.)

There's this superhero themed tag-team tournament that the site's gonna host soon and I made him a magical girl dress for it and everything :]

Sorry for rambling about this one singular site for so long, lol.
