Look I had made this a while ago - not long after I realised Bumblebee and Bulkhead only have four fingers, as opposed to Ratchet, Optimus and Arcee having five.

So the humanformers hands thing...

Fun fact: The middle finger gesture originated from archers showing off to the opposing side in war that they still had their middle fingers; the specific finger most commonly used in archery. During one of the many French vs British war/battle/things, archers middle fingers would be cut off (to render their bows useless). Hence the gesture showing off that they still had their fingers.

Seeing Bulk and Bee's hands are missing a finger each, maybe they had a little accident? I get that their missing their ring fingers... but hey! Wacky weapons right? Modern equivalents and all. I can totally imagine it too: Bee with being captured by the opposition? Bulk could also just have had a construction mishap. But eh. WAR CRIMES.

I don’t know if it can be seen in the actual picture, but there’s scarring in the space where the ring fingers are missing.

When thinking it out, I had thought they probably lost it due to the Decepticons, especially because they’re missing their fourth finger on both hands.

The decision to specifically cut/rip off the fourth finger may be related to a Decepticon belief, probably being symbolic of confessing/silence, especially because Soundwave also only has four fingers,.

With a vow of Silence, there’s an element not to say a word, so removing the ring finger for a Decepticon is used more as loyalty to the Decepticons, while doing it to an Autobot is a bit more like saying ‘we tortured them, but they didn’t say anything (we wanted to hear)’

If that makes sense.

So Bee most likely had his ripped off during Tyger Pax, which is also why they didn’t come off easily and ripped off part of his hand- being done on a battle field and by such large servos.

While Bulkhead’s was more likely done during a longer, more ‘professional’ interrogation, where he may have had his amputated after they realised that he wasn’t saying anything they wanted to hear (most likely because he genuinely didn’t know) and didn’t want anyone else to waste their time on him.

I dunno- it’s an idea :)

Me an hour later: Humanised TFE Bumblebee

I know to some he radiates ‘middle aged dad’ energy, but tbh, for me he radiates ‘20 year old big brother that’s in over his head’ energy.

Did I have to give him a cropped turtle neck? No.

Am I going to? Absolutely. I learnt how to draw bodies, I will show it off!

I haven’t added in battle scars yet (because it was a rushed colouring job).

I’m really happy with om how it came out though!
