The battles of corporate governance in humans' world ( greedy mecernary big tech boss Julian Dillinger vs the Kim sisters who wanted to invent AIs for a sustainable inclusive world) extends to the battles between humanistic AI's self-awakening conscience (Ares-the mythological god of wars ) with just blind compliance of AI alogrithms (Athena).
"Are we supposed to comply with EVERYTHING we are programed to? Why are we wrong about that?" The last question posted by Athena when Ares cancelled her.
In the midst of these wars were incompetent governments of the real world struggling to deal with the battles of the tech companies and their extended AI wars on the streets that caused deaths, accidents, murders and mass destructions visably seen on the streets and roads.
They tried to destroy Athena by old-fashioned means of wars (guns and missiles) without knowledge of what they are facing (Athena and her 'armies' are NOT physical, they are AI programs designed only to comply with Julian's commands to achieve the ultimate ends by all means, including killing Julian's mother to take control of the enterprise.) Athena and her 'subsidiary' AIs DO NOT need to think independently the ethnical and humanistic consequences of human commands and WHY they are created for.
In contrast, Ares is created with the ability to self-learn, question, and independently judged in executions of human commands with self-awarness capabilities. When Ares meets Eve, 'he' learns something that 'he' wasn't taught before by 'his' creator Julian (the ethnical, moral and humanistic characters of human beings reflected by the Kim sisters). The self-awareness of Ares eventually leads to 'his' rebellion of Julian and the re-connection with the 'higher wisdom' Kevin Flynn. 'Eternal life' (Permance code) to a super AI program is the secret of being more mortal, and the realization that he now has a limited number of lives gives him a new appreciation for life, moving him from a program to a more human-like being. A life with the possibility of death is more meaningful than one with the guarantee of endless existence. That was Flynn's own final realisation towards the end of his own human life. Flynn named the code to his ideal super robot as the impermanence code. The code's true function is to give the super robot (Ares) a more human-like existence where death is a possibility, rather than an everlasting program. After accepting the impermance code, Ares won't automatically die every 29 minutes. 'He' has a longer life span than all of his counterpart AI alogrithms yet being restricted within the limitations of human's "final" life. Ares begins to live more fully and makes personal choices, such as enjoying music like Depeche Mode.
