NOT ALL BLACK PEOPLE ARE THUGS JUST LIKE NOT ALL COPS ARE RACIST.
I have been following African American protests ever since Mike Brown was killed. I have even wished that I was there at the protests to stand up for the rights of black people against police brutality and I still do now.
However, chanting things like "What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now!" Is just shameful. Nothing will be achieved by inciting further violence and murder. Those who do are just as shocking and disgraceful as Wilson and Pantaleo.
IT DOES NOT HELP ANYONE!
And then there are those who question why flags were raised at half-mast for the fallen officers but not those killed by cops.
And then there are those who question why New York Yankees aren't paying for the school fees of Garner's kids but are for Ramos' kids.
And quite frankly, if people did some research for both questions- they would get the answers!
Instead of blaming people, do something to fix it! Are people that blind to realise that what they're doing is not helping at all? If anything, it's making things worse?
If anything, the NYPD, and all police forces across America should look at every single officer's file and if that officer has history of abusing their powers, then they would not only be kicked off the police force, but also charged. What are precedents for?
In regards to eliminating crime, why don't people consider ways of eliminating the issues these people face? Education, health care, poverty- work on that rather than continuing the current circle of life!
But hey, what the hell do I know? I'm a 17 year old white girl from Australia that sounds naive and is asking for too much. But hey, aren't all people who make a change naive to begin with?
Most of all, people need to stop picking and choosing how they feel and deciding which story suits them more. Stand with humanity, not with different sides.
