In simple word FCR is the amount of feed taken by fish to grow a kilogram. For example if fish grow one kilogram after taken five kilograms of feed then FCR would be five. FCR calculate by following way FCR=Total Number Of Feed In KG/weight Gain By Fish. The FCR used to measuring the efficiency with which the bodies of fishes or any other livestock convert animal feed into the designed output. The feed conversion ratio is a measure of the feed efficiency which is used for the all livestock production. This means if feed has a low FCR,it takes less feed to produce one kilogram of fish then it would if the FCR were higher.A low FCR indicate high quality feed.

Working of controller in farming

For each function of controller need relay. It will operate the control circuit contactor to operate the equipment like Pump,Valve,Blower,heater.To get re-circulation requirement achieved controller needs to be programmed.

Different controller have different work CPU gets actual temperature pH,DO,CO2,water levels,NH3. Display shows the actual condition in the tank.Relays get command from CPU to operate as per the programme. Relays gives signals to operate various equipment like Motors,Valves,Pumps,Blowers and Filters and many more.CPU can connect to internet via another unit.

Controller capacity depending on the how many functions it can handle. Some parameters are help to find the capacity of controller like numbers of relays it has,how the re-circulation can be achieved,how much data it can hold,communication with laptop/internet,and most important is that what you need and what your work staff can handle.
