Ideally, "random" humor shouldn't be just unrelated nonsense for the sake of unrelated nonsense, or doing something kinda unexpected. It should be something so unexpected that it catches the audience off-guard and they can't help but laugh. Monty Python's Flying Circus was pretty good at this with their skits.
And "penguinz of DOOOOOM LOL XDDDDDD" isn't going to catch anyone off-guard. It's like an amorphous peg trying to fit a round hole.
