A$AP Ferg - 'Hungry Ham' ft. Skrillex & Crystal Caines -Ferg has been a bit too inconsistent in regards to the quality of his singles dropped for Always Strive And Prosper. Regardless, 'Hungry Ham' is definitely one of the best ones released in the run up, Skrillex helping massively in the hype department for this track. Displaying Ferg's trademark chants, Skrillex's great production, and a great pace putting some tension on the track, hopefully the record is more like this than 'Let It Bang'
Soulja Boy - 'I Got Bricks' ft. Calico Jonez At the end of the day, it's Soulja Boy - gotta give him respect for still having a career this long after 'Crank That (Soulja Boy)'. That said, there's really not much to be said, is there? Shitty instrumental, generic hook about money, and some feature who sounds like a complete bastardised mixture of Future and Drake - to be fair, what else were you expecting? This is absolutely a post 'drunk too much at the club and told people to come back to mine' listen.
Ratboys - 'Not Again' Super laid back indie/emo rock, initially playing around with the 'quiet-loud' dynamic that so many bands seem to now rely on. Instead, Ratboys take a pleasant stroll around tones and chord progressions, rather than getting themselves into your head with brute distortion, the song simultaneously being fairly easy listening while still coming across as extremely well written. Great little track, and very much worth a listen. B.W.
