Unlikely Friendship || Apple & Colette

        Many had warned her not to come here, but the same people who had cautioned against her traveling to this place were also living in the past. She couldn’t blame them after all. The Isle of the Lost while now open had always been a place of ill repute and danger. The truth was her being there could have very well been dangerous, but Apple was the determined sort of princess. However, the world had come to a new age where forgiveness was indeed the word to put forward and said changes could not be made if no one dared to venture forward and break the ice. Besides unknown to those who knew her best Apple was always the adventurous sort, she simply had to hide that wanderlust so as not to disappoint her mother, Queen Snow.

    So wearing a less flashy outfit, something simple, a red tracksuit with pearl white details, perhaps not the most well-hidden apparel but it beat wearing a dress and crown, she set forward across the bridge with a backpack in hand. She had recalled that she’d been told to wear it in the front, for Evie had mentioned that just because the barrier was down, there were still people there living on hard times. It made her wonder just what sort. Apple had always had a rather privileged life and therefore knew nothing of the meaning of being down on one’s luck. Perhaps now that the barrier was open she could propose to King Ben to start to set up institutions to help the destitute of the Isle. Soup Kitchens and the like. 

    She’d have to see it all face to face to assess the damage and she’d make note of every single thing she witnessed, for they would all help her with that sort of proposition. She took a deep breath once she made it across the bridge. No time like the present, she thought to herself as she stepped foot for the first time into the Isle of the Lost. It was a place with its own charm, to say the least. Something she actually found herself liking. The place was real and gritty, and it failed to sugarcoat the world the same way Auradon did. 

   But for all her admiring the young princess found herself crashing into a solid mass of something. What it was she wasn’t entirely sure as she hit the ground. “Whoops so sorry!” she called out as she looked up to find herself staring up at a girl with dark curls and chiseled features. “Are you alright?” she asked ironically seeing as how she was on the ground and not the girl herself.

        Mare could unequivocally confirm that barbed wire? Was definitely a pain in the goddamn ass. Or, well, calf, in this case. Poking around places she wasn’t supposed to lead to the very snap judgement of jumping a fence. She’d managed to get away just fine, that was all that mattered. Well, injury aside and the messy trail of blood she’d left before she’d allowed herself the luxury of finally stopping to at least patch herself up.

        That had been when she’d heard the other speak, head lifting fast. In spite of every bit of wariness she felt, Mare offered a wry grin. “Had a fuckin’ blast, is what. Can’tcha tell?”

Geralt beams at the compliment. It had been a while since he’s heard from his sister and the sound of her voice was music to his ears. It certainly beats the voices of his three idiot brothers and their constant barking. “You do? I try my best.
