After class I visited the instrument museum in The Central Conservatory and decided to take some video and photographs of the various huqin (胡琴 húqín) or vertical fiddle instruments they have on display.
Note: The opening image is a set of the 5 primary instruments used in nanguan (南管 nánguǎn) music . The far right instrument is a special two stringed fiddle associated with this particular ensemble, not to be confused with the erhu street music playing in the video. The erhu (二胡 èrhú) is the most commonly played of the huqin family, particularly in the conservatory and orchestral settings.
The song was composed by the famous Chinese composer He Lüting for the 1937 classic film, Street Angel.
finally purchased an Erhu.
Today has been nice ~ ~
