BERNARDINA - new ARABICA varietal registered in 2015. Its story began when Ruperto Bernardino Merche noticed five coffee trees different from his other plantation trees - they ripened at a different time, bloomed brighter and the coffee tasted different. Other coffee plantation owners probably just don’t bother, but not @cafe_pacas - they sent this coffee to Italy to make a DNA test. Analysed coffee had 70% of Geisha and 30% Ethiopian Agaro. It was confirmed as a new arabica varietal which has been commemorated to its founder.
