From the moment I saw this jaunty, ominous droid walking through Maz’s Castle, I knew I needed to build it out of LEGO! I poured over the internet to find images to reference the build, but didn’t find much. Luckily in the Force Awakens Visual Dictionary there was a large detailed image that was perfect. I sat down around 10pm and worked on this until the morning. The most challenging part about this project was nailing Hurid-327‘s posture while keeping the appendages thin. There is an oddly satisfying high amount of tension in the droid’s stance. I had bought #75099 Rey’s Speeder with the intention of using the parts to make this. I’m surprised to say I also made my first Bricklink order to get parts for this. These were proud moments for me as a builder! See more photos on my Flickr page.
