Please keep my family and the people in my surrounding areas in your thoughts, we have the potential of being flooded out tomorrow. We’ve been through this a multitude of times before, but the unknown of what we may be coming home to, is always nerve racking.

7/02 Hurricane Arthur (2014)
So what's my job like and I spent July 4th with Hurricane Aurthur
So if you don't already know I work at the Nantucket Yacht Club as a management intern but basically that means a server. The club is over a 100 years old an its pretty prestigious and what not. Everyone is really nice here and its basically like working with your grandparents all the time. I've worked at different clubs, and I have to say that the Nantucket Yacht Club is probably of the smallest clubs I've worked at, now even though its the smallest its probably of the most fanciest. I have to crumb people's table and pass out amuses and other things. the point is its pretty fancy at dinner time. Oh I forgot to mention that my job has a cannon!! Whenever it's sunset the cannon goes off and everyone stands up for a minute or two and the commodore ( he's like the clubs president) says as you were and everyone sits back down, its kind of a cool thing.
So July 4th week was our busiest week yet since they do a big weekend thing. On the 4th they throw and picnic and on the 5th they a really throw a big party. So on the 4th there just happened to be a hurricane in our area and let me tell you don't got outside in a hurricane. I had to walk home to mid knee level water and if you do have to walk home don't even bother wearing shoes you will either lose them or they will get soaked. But other than the oceans in the streets it wasn't really that bad. I just recommend staying in doors.
