Bruise {San x Reader}
San x Reader
You chose not to lie.
This time anyway.

“I’ve told you many times to be careful,” you mumble as you throw away the swabs, before moving past a shirtless San to clean up, having fixed him up a few minutes ago. His sharp eyes watch your movements, narrowing slightly as he tries to see past whatever guard you have up.
“Is there something you aren’t telling me sweet thing?” he purrs, ignoring your words as his voice drops by an octave, drawing a barely there shiver from you. Shaking your head, you mumble a few chosen words under your breath before escaping from the bathroom, the air growing too heavy for you.
You busy yourself in your small kitchen, getting to work as the water boils only to jolt in surprise as you turn away from the cups that stand on the island, to find San stand directly in front of you.
Stupid stealth skills, your head snips, as you watch him, his eyes trailing about your body before narrowing on your left wrist. Frowning you follow his line of sight.
Only to find the bruise from two days ago - gained from goons of a rival group - peeking through the sleeve of your sweater that has ridden up.
“Um, I guess no excuse will fly with you, will it?” you inquire, he tilts his head brows shooting up as he waits for you to explain why there is a bruise on your skin when there shouldn’t be.
“I was at work, closing up with Kira,” you explain, tapping your forefinger against your upper thigh, trying to keep your emotions in check as you feel your emotions from that night wash over you with your retelling.
When you’re done, it is deathly quiet - the kettle doing boiling a few seconds prior - while San’s eyes don’t leave you.
“I’ll call the others,” he tells you whipping out his phone, you bit your lower lip, nodding softly knowing he won’t let you protest no matter what.
His gentle touch around your waist brings you out of your thoughts, as he presses a soft kiss against your lips before resting his forehead against yours, as the tension slowly bleeds out of the room.
“Next time, just tell me when you’re hurt,” he tells you tone stern, words soft, you hum softly just enjoy the warmth his body gives you.
“I will, don’t worry.”
