DESIRE is a week old! Thanks for all the kind words and good vibrations. It feels so good to finally hand it over to you. . For those that want the cold, hard stats... During the week it hit the Number 1 spot in 7 countries made the Top 10 in 26. That is fucking brilliant and really it's all down to you, the worldwide Hurts family. We may not always fit in or be part of the crowd, but thanks to you our strange pop music has its own special place in the world. . DESIRE is an album full of escapism. Much of it a reaction to (and antidote for) the world around us and the exhausting barrage of heavy news that we've all been exposed to over the last couple of years. For us, the only option when we got into the studio was to create music that totally took us away from that. Music filled with light and hope. So that's what we did, and it felt really good. Hopefully you can find that same escape in the album whenever you need it too. For some, I know the new things we try on each album can be a little confusing and challenging at first, but if you enter with an open mind and give it some time, I assure you, it'll all make sense in the end. We always make music from the heart, so just know that every choice we make is genuine and true. To pretend or be lazy just to play it safe would be disingenuous and disrespectful to you. So we can't thank enough for giving us the chance to grow and experiment with every album. Our aim is to create music for every emotion and situation that life throws at us. It's also important to show you more of who we are as people through the music we make. Over the course of 4 albums we've moved between darkest and the lightest extremes. That's the spectrum we now inhabit, and so what will happen next already feels exciting. . I enter the weekend with a full heart and smile on my face and hope that you do the same. Life is great.
