Here’s some tasters of bits and pieces I started.
Firstly, a Uhura and McCoy piece as Spock is healing after the events of Beyond.
“Hi,” he said taking the free seat beside her.
“Hi,” she replied. She looked across at him. The cuts on his face were still untreated, but they were minor at least.
“You didn't get hurt?” he asks. She's changed from her uniform into sweats and jumper, her hair loose around her shoulders.
“Nothing more than a few bruises,” she says. She leans her head against the side of the chair, her tiredness apparent in the gesture.
His own eyes feel gritty from lack of sleep but he needed to be on hand while Spock was treated to provide any information the doctors needed.
“He'll be fine you know.”
“I was trying to think of the last thing I said to him. You know, before you guys rescued me. And I couldn't remember if he'd spoken to me on the bridge or not.”
“Listen, as a friend, I can tell you that I know he cares very much about you.” He hesitated. He didn't want to say too much about his time with Spock. “I was teasing him when we got to Yorktown. I saw the two of you together and then you left and he just stood there. I didn't know that you guys were-”
Doctor McCoy walked into the large tent and removed his coat, hanging it up to dry. The sound of the rain pounding on the canvas above him was going to lull him to sleep soon enough.
It was a great sound to hear.
He stepped into the main area of the large tent. There was a small table where Jim was sat, a PADD in front of him but he looked up and smiled at McCoy's entrance. Uhura was crouched at a bag in the corner of the room, she ignored him. Spock was also in the tent somewhere but he couldn't see him right now so assumed he was in one of the sleeping areas.
There was a noticeable tension in the air and he wondered what had happened. He had been stationed in one area, helping those that were sick so he hadn't been around the other three much.
“How are things looking, Bones?” Jim asked, putting down his PADD.
“There's a lot of sick people here and I still don't know what's causing those blisters they're breaking out in.”
“How did the meeting with the elders go?”
Jim shook his head. “It wasn't productive,” he settled on. McCoy followed Jim's brief glance over to Uhura and he noticed she was working on the universal translator.
“Where's Spock?” McCoy asked while still watching the Lieutenant. Her shoulders stiffened at the mention of him but she didn't look up, so Bones looked to Jim for the answer.
Jim raised his eyebrows. “Through there,” he said, pointing to the sleeping quarters.
“I'm going to take this into the females quarters and work on it,” Nyota said taking an armful of equipment with her.
“What's going on?” Bones asked.
Jim indicated for him to wait a moment and stood up. Jim went to the other sleeping quarters, the one where Bones assumed Spock was and said “Bones just wants me to go and assess the situation at the treatment facility. I'll be back soon.”
With that, the pair grabbed coats and headed out.
~
They headed for the building where the sick people were.
The pair of them did the little they could to reassure the sick people and their families. There was so little they could do to comfort them, but they could help with the symptoms they were suffering from, it just seemed to help so little.
Jim and McCoy stepped into a small room to speak in private.
“How far has it spread?”
“They live in such small communities throughout the woods, it's spread quickly.”
“Do you have enough people working on it?”
“We could do with more.”
“I'll get someone to call for another ship to help out. And I'll have Spock work with you tomorrow. He might not be medical but he's smart enough he can help you with most things.”
“Are you sure you're not just trying to keep those two apart?”
“It might be part of a hidden agenda.”
“Do you know what's wrong?”
“No, they've been weird all day. She doesn't have a jacket with her and she wouldn't take his earlier because of the rain. But then she took mine when I offered it.”
“The transporter is still broken?”
Kirk nodded. “I'd have sent them both back to the ship by now if I could.”
“Well, on a serious note, it's a good thing she didn't take his jacket because Vulcan's don't do well in the wet and cold. It might not seem that bad to us, but it hardly ever rains on Vulcan and the last thing they'd do if it was raining was be outside in it. They're kinda stupidly susceptible to getting sick.”
“Well, that's good to know.”
“Don't worry. He's had his medical recently and he gets a booster when he has them. Helps with this sort of thing.”
“So I don't have to worry about him in this weather?”
“He got a jacket and he's with me tomorrow so he'll be out of the rain most of the time. Nothing to worry about. Although I have no cure for whatever is going on between him and Uhura.”
“As far as I'm concerned, that's their personal business and as long as it doesn't affect the mission, I'm not getting involved.”
~
When they returned to the tent, Spock was sat at the table Jim had vacated earlier.
“Everything okay?” Jim asked.
Spock nodded briefly.
“I thought you might have gone to bed.”
“I plan to meditate. I shall do so out here so we do not disturb one another.”
“Okay, if you're sure,” Jim said, retreating into the sleeping quarters.
McCoy moved over and leant in close to Spock. “I don't get why you're not over there with your girlfriend.”
“As Lieutenant Uhura stated, sleeping quarters provided are for the male in one and female in another. As I am not female, I shall not be sharing quarters with her.”
“You can talk to us you know,” he said, voice a little softer.
“I must meditate. And you must rest too, Doctor. You still have quite a task ahead of you.” Although Spock said nothing, his tone softened slightly. McCoy knew he appreciated the offer, even if it would never be accepted.
McCoy straightened up and spoke at a normal level. “Nah, Jim's giving me you tomorrow. We'll have it cracked in no time.”
So I read one of the stories from Tantalus 8 last night.
‘Not Light but Warmth’ written by Lynn Syck & Mary Rottler is an add-on to ‘Journey to Babel’.
With Sarek and Kirk on the mend, everything seems to be getting back to normal, with the one exception- Spock reports McCoy & Kirk for Dereliction of Duty. And then, unknown to Kirk, he also uses a full mind barrier to block off any and all emotion he feels towards his friends. He wants to ensure that Kirk will never risk his life or career, or the lives of the crew, on his behalf again.
Neither Kirk or McCoy can get through to Spock and stop him taking even more dramatic action, in his bid to be unaffected by his emotions.
It’s both angsty for Spock and Kirk, both suffering mental and physical anguish and McCoy, while not as deeply affected, is still watching his friends suffer and plays a significant role in the story.
Worth reading if you can get a copy.
Edit:

I just googles the title and authors and found this link: https://ksrevolution.slashcity.org/tantalus/notlightbutwarmth.html Not as good as a paper copy, but it'll do.

This is all of the stuff now, except my own fics, which you can find Here All of my own work is Hurt!Spock. None of these are rated, the (*****) just indicates I have read and enjoyed it. Some others I might have read and mentioned on here before but as I can’t remember them, I haven’t been able to notify.
Enjoy.
I’m going to work on a comprehensive list of Star Trek fanfic that covers all forms on Hurt!Spock fics, split into categories.
This is going to be a HUGE task as I’m not searching the hurt Spock tag, but I’m searching for Star Trek fiction, so it’s going to take me a LONG time to do.
The first section I’m checking is Star Trek Alternate Original Series and there are 1146 pages of stories to look through.
So if you have ay recommendations for fan fiction from other locations such as fanfiction.net, KS archive or anywhere else, please send them to me, because I’ll probably get bored half way through doing A03, but this would be so cool to have!
I’m working on this on a new sideblog that’s currently private and I can’t wait to share it with you when I have a lot of stories on there to share.
At the minute, the blog is called Grieve With Thee. I might change it if I think of something better.

Thank you! What are your favorite fanfics? Take Refuge in What You Know by CorpusInvictus
Comfort Food bt TDazz
Lunch and Other Obscenities by Rheanna
I frequently come back to these and re-read them. Take Refuge is slash, which I don't care much for, but I love the story, I love the way Spock is weaved into the lives of Jim and especially Bones. Comfort food is just so good and exploring just how screwed up Spock is after all that happens to him without being OTT about it. Lunch is just a really well structured story that takes the time to explore an alien species and show it sympathy from a human perspective. It's all put together so well.
Do you use sentence starters, writing prompts and/or fandom headcanons for your fanfics?
Nothing really. I sometimes use word prompts or search for fan fic ideas if I want to write but have no ideas for anything specific. I do like to write things based off episodes as well.
Do fanfics of your fanfic exist?
I don't believe so, although I have had some work translated (or asked to be translated) and I have had someone ask me if they could continue a story that I started and very quickly abandoned.
Can we get a teaser for an upcoming chapter?
There's nothing being written so nothing to share.
