British-Jamaican artist Hurvin Anderson’s ironic, distancing landscapes were inspired by Trinidad’s decorative security grilles & fences — like this “Welcome” window grille he spotted in a bar. These barriers cut into the scene, creating a push and pull effect described as “anti-landscape.”//On display in our show #HurvinAndersoAGO on level 4. Free with general admission.
