ehehe with pleasure !!! i’m pretty sure i’ve shared snippets of basically all of this so far but here, have a lil bit of aurora and dew talking :))

“You– You wore my binder?”

She nods, embarrassment colouring her cheeks. “I’m sorry.”

“You don’t need to be sorry,” he reassures her, quickly. “I’m just surprised, that's all.”

“‘M still sorry,” she says. “It was wrong, I should’ve asked you first. And– And I’m a… a girl.” She chooses to ignore the way her stomach rolls when she says that last part, but from the look that Dew affixes her with, it seems as if he’s not ignoring it.

“Do you know how many times I’ve stolen Aether’s hoodies since I’ve been topside? Hell, I think I still have a pair of pants I took from Mist years ago without asking and I still don’t think she’s noticed they’re missing. We’re pack, we share things. Sometimes that means we share food, or each other. But we can all share clothes too. If my clothes make you happy, you can have free reign of my closet if you want.” He waits until she nods before continuing. “And about that last part? You being a girl?”

She nods again, still choosing to ignore the deep feeling of wrong her agreement to his words brings up.

“You’re still allowed to wear what makes you happy regardless of gender. You wouldn’t tell Sunny she’s not allowed to wear pants now that she’s living as a girl or that I can’t wear skirts or dresses anymore now I’m doing the same as a guy, would you?” She opens her mouth to answer but Dew cuts her off before she can begin. “I know you know,” he explains kindly. “Just… Sometimes you need a reminder when it’s you you’re talking about, I know I always do.”

For a third time, she nods, but some kind of apprehension must show on her face because Dew cocks an eyebrow in her direction, encouraging her to speak up if she wants to. “I just… I don’t think–” she starts, huffing out an annoyed sigh when she can’t quite get her words to function as she wants them to. “I don’t know,” she starts again, pausing for a second on each word. “If I’m… A girl, exactly.”

If Dewdrop is surprised by her admission he doesn’t show it. “Yeah? Why do you think that, love?”

“I don’t know,” she sighs in frustration. “It’s all so complicated.”

okay okay so uhhhhh fuck where do i start ??!?!

i'm in the process of writing the second chapter of this fic which, if you're don't wanna read it, it's basically ftm rain dealing with dysphoria and then fucking swiss about it (to whom he is not yet out to, so uhhh... very bad idea on rain's part) which only makes him feel worse, and the whole thing ends with some mountrain softness <3

and the second chapter is 4600 words (so far, there's still a lot of story left to go O_O) of rulti hurt/comfort ft. a coming out scene and hopefully some very affirming and euphoric sex, haha :D

this was less of a ramble and more of a shameless self promo i am so sorry, but as compensation for having to sit thought that skdjfbsdkf have a little snippet :)

“I do have one more question though,” Swiss admitted slowly.

Rain nodded. “Yeah? Go ahead.”

“Okay so, uh– Fuck, I’m gonna word this badly, I just know it,” he groaned.

“That’s okay. I don’t mind how you phrase it, just… Don’t be a dick, you know?”

Swiss chuckled. “Hmm, I think I can manage that,” he teased. “You’ve said you’re not a girl,” he started. “So, uh– What– What are you?”

Rain sighed in relief, that was a much more manageable question than what he’d been expecting. “I’m like Dew,” he said by way of explanation, hoping Swiss would be able to understand what he meant.

“So you’re a guy? Ghoul? …You know what I mean.”

“Yeah. Yeah, exactly.”

“Well,” Swiss began, eyes sparkling with mirth. “Is now a good time to say you’re the handsomest ghoul I’ve ever seen?”

Rain stared at the multi ghoul for a few seconds before both of them burst out laughing, all remaining tension broken. “You fucking flirt!” Rain chuckled, leaning further into Swiss’ hold. The multi ghoul squeezed him gently, pulling him closer to pepper soft kisses all over his face. Rain squirmed in his arms, pretending to object to the barrage of affection being directed his way.

i can't remember which bits i've shared and which bits i haven't shared of this fic buuuuut i feel bad about the fact that it's almost been eight months since i posted the first chapter of the dysphoric, transmasc rain/swiss fic so here, have a little snippet of chapter two that's been sitting in my drafts for what feels like forever :'D

cw for one line that could be interpreted as suicidal thoughts

"You don’t have to tell me anything.” The multi ghoul's voice held so much softness and affection that Rain couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. “But…” Shit. “If one of the reasons you feel so bad is because of something that happened earlier, then I need to know, baby. So, c’mon, talk to me?”

Rain shook his head, refusing to meet Swiss’s eyes.

“I can do yes and no questions for you, if that helps? But like I said, Rainy, I need to know.”

“...Fine.” Rain refused to admit—even to himself—just how difficult he found it to force that one simple word out.

“Thank you, baby,” Swiss smiled. “Was it something I did that made you feel uncomfortable?”

Rain shook his head, staring unblinkingly at his knees.

“Something I said?”

Rain hummed the affirmative and nodded slowly.

Swiss paused for a moment, considering. “Alrighty, I’m gonna need yah to speak for this one, okay? Just a few words, baby. D’you think you can manage that for me?” He waited for Rain to nod his assent—albeit very, very hesitantly—before continuing on. “Which words made you feel the most uncomfortable, Rain?”

He paused at this, chewing on his bottom lip and glancing up at Swiss as he considered how to answer the multi’s question properly; in a way that wouldn’t permanently alter Swiss’s entire perception of him, or that would let Swiss still believe that all was right in the world, and his partner wasn’t some freak of nature created—disfigured—by a botched summoning. Saying: “when you called me ‘good girl’ it made me want to tear my skin off, request that Dewdrop to burn me into ash, and find some poor, unknowing soul to throw my charred remains into the ninth circle to suffer as I deserve” was definitely true for the most part, but Swiss already seemed worried enough as it was; he didn’t deserve to be any more worried than he had to be. Rain had to be careful about this. “I didn’t like the– The good– The good– The–” His breath hitched in a sob. He couldn’t even say it out loud. Sathanas.

“Rain, baby, take your time. There’s no rush, yeah? This conversation doesn’t have a time limit we need to stick to."

Rain wanted to open his mouth and scream at Swiss that there was; there was a time limit. Mountain could be back at any second, and if he saw Swiss conversing with Rain, even if it was clear Swiss was trying to reassure the water ghoul, Mountain would likely tell Swiss to fuck off and come back another time, or not at all. The earth ghoul always means well, but Rain has found he can be a little… overbearing at times—although, honestly, Rain wouldn’t mind Mountain coming in right now and forcing Swiss out; at least it would mean avoiding this conversation for a while longer.

lil french rainy please please please

this was truely meant to be a silly no-stakes thing to work on while i'm away, but i've grown quite attached to this lil thing <3 for those who don't understand french, the english translations are written next to the french in little italicised letters (i hope that's a helpful format !! please let me know if it's not <3)

“Arrête!” (stop!) Rain’s raised voice catches Dew’s attention. He looks up from his book to see Aeon giggling as they nudge their finger against Rain’s tower of blocks. The tower wobbles as Aeon nudges it again, threatening to fall.

“Arrête, arrête,” (stop, stop) Rain cries again, trying to push Aeon away and save his tower.

Dew puts his book down. “Aeon, bubs?” The little quintessence ghoul looks up at the sound of their name. “I don’t think Rainy likes you messing with his tower, okay? He’s telling you to stop.”

Aeon pouts. “If I don’ un’ers’and him, how ‘m I supposed to know?” Their question prompts the both of them to look over at the little water ghoul, his gaze shifting between them, his brow furrowed in confusion.

“Je compren’ pas, Papa,” (i don't understand, papa) he says, voice small as tears well in his eyes.

Dew stands from the couch and makes his way over to the two little ghouls on the floor. He crouches in front of Rain and holds his hands out near his face, letting Rain lean into his touch on his own time. When he does, Dew smooths his thumbs over Rain’s cheeks, wiping away the single tear that fell in his confusion. “Ça va, mon cœur?” (are you alright, my heart?)

Rain nods. “Ouais, ça va.” (yeah, i'm okay) He sniffles as he speaks, but with Dew’s warm hands on his face wicking away the sadness, he seems to be feeling a lot better.

Across the other side of the block tower, Aeon whines. “I don’ un’erstand, Dada.” Dew has to bite back a smile at how similar Rain and Aeon are, even if neither of them are quite aware of it at the moment.

He walks around to the other side of the tower and sits next to Aeon, holding out his hand for the little quintessence ghoul to take a hold of if they want. “You don’t have to understand, little star,” he reminds them. “You just have to–”

“I jus’ have to be kiiiiiiind,” they finish for him, drawing out the ‘i’ in ‘kind’ as they struggle to pronounce it.

Dew smiles widely. “That’s exactly right, Ae! Such a good memory you’ve got there, bub. Well done.”

Aeon grins back up at Dew, rocking side to side in happiness from the praise as they turn their attention back to their own pile of blocks in front of them.

“Aeon!” His mum calls out from the front door. “We’re going to be late! Come on, get a wriggle on!”

He yells out some kind of garbled noise in acknowledgement of hearing her as he pulls on his shoes and does yet another one-over of his room, making sure he isn’t forgetting anything important. It wouldn’t actually matter if he did, his university is only an hour or so drive away and he knows his mum would be more than happy to have an excuse to visit, but he wants to enter this new phase of his life (as his mum insists on calling it) as smoothly and as well organised as possible. He huffs out a sigh as he deems his room suitably packed up, almost tripping over his untied shoelace on his way out to close the door—he can tie them up in the car, it’s fine—and remembers in a panic the journal his mum gave him to document his time at university, still sitting in his desk drawer from his birthday all those months ago. He yanks open the drawer and pulls it out, adding it to the pile of things already balancing precariously in his arms and in his backpack; all things under the guise of front seat usefulness, so no, Mum, they can’t go in the boot, what if I need them?!

ELABORATE ON DYSPHORIA DEW PLEASE

OF COURSE !!! it's funny that you should be the one to ask me this rowan because i started this one in response to one of your asks aaaages ago and then scrapped it in favour of the one i ended up posting :0

Swiss entered their shared room before Rain did, his smile faltering as he took in the sight before him: Dewdrop standing in front of the full-length mirror, arms crossed uncomfortably around his body, a troubled furrow in his brow as his eyes roamed over his own body. It was only once Swiss moved a step closer that he realised his partner was crying softly, too. Swiss turned to Rain and hushed the water ghoul softly, imploring them as subtly as he could that their love was in distress, and upon seeing Dew looking so miserable, they faltered, just as Swiss had.
