Huskies ready to run
I have a bit of a different question for you but if I may ask what is your most beautiful moment you remember? Beautiful place or beautiful time it can be anything but I want to ask you this because here in the city is very stressful at the moment and I know you'll have a beautiful answer for me. Thank you Ghostie!
Ah... Anon, I’m so so sorry things are feeling so grey and stressful for you. I know that lots of people are really struggling in all sorts of ways, with things being the way they are at the moment, and I wish there was a real solution in sight. All we can really do is try to keep as much of a sense of routine and normality going, take care of ourselves, mentally and physically, and be there to support each other however we can.
In answer to your actual question... in terms of utterly extraordinary experiences, I think my trip in February last year to the arctic circle in Finland with my mother was truly something I will never ever forget.
It was unfathomably wild and raw and honest and beautiful, and the people I met there were just so welcoming and genuine, with a really dry and wacky sense of humour that I loved.
It makes me ache (in a good way) to think about the frozen lake and the pine trees, the soft, ethereal, mesmeric glow of the northern lights, the squeaking crunch of snow as you walk on it, the way the cold froze my eyelashes in seconds, the way the dogs just... ran and loved it... Yeah, it was absolutely a once in a lifetime experience, but hopefully I can make it twice or three (or more) in the future once all this is over...
Here are some of my favourite photos I took:

I hope that this brings a bit of peace and open space to you and anyone else cooped up inside during this difficult time. Remember that it will pass, eventually, but we mustn’t be complacent about how we deal with it. Stay strong, stay safe, and stay home if you can.
Bonus: my borrowed helmet froze over when snowmobiling... (screenshotted from my Instagram because I don’t have this one on my laptop).
Big and beautiful boy.
Lead bitches, and we know it.

Apukka, the northern lights centre of Rovaniemi is the perfect location to experience Husky Sledding in Lapland. This stunning wilderness...
Earlier this year in Winter we visited the beautiful Apukka in Finnish Lapland. During our stay we experienced Husky Sledding and we absolutely loved it. This isn't the first time or place I've been husky sledding but this is definitely my favourite so far.
The land of fire and ice has long been a draw for many travellers with its unspoilt beauty, the snowy days, dark nights, geothermal wonders
The land of fire and ice, this was my second visit to this stunning country. My first was a spring trip round the entire ring road. This one was a long weekend in winter. Husky sledding a plane wreck, blue lagoon, frozen waterfalls and ice caves... what more could you want.
