tick- 00:00. Yuna was officially an adult. She happily switched her gaze from her phone screen to the glass of chilled wine in front of her. She reached for the glass and took a big gulp out of it; almost instantaneously her face contorted in a grimace as the weird and unfamiliar flavor overwhelmed her taste buds. 

The sound of someone giggling surprised Yuna. 

“Eonnie?” 

“Happy Birthday, Yuna-yah.” Yeji greeted, smiling fondly at her after witnessing the whole scene. 

“Why are you awake? Aren’t you tired from practice today?” Yuna gave her eonnie a once over, but the few hours of sleep must have been enough because there was no trace of exhaustion on Yeji’s face. Just a sleepy fondness for Yuna’s antics. 

“Of course I’m awake, it’s your birthday, babygirl.” The soft light of the kitchen highlighted Yeji’s beautiful features, waking Yuna up further than that gulp of red wine did. She ignored the sudden feeling of nervousness as Yeji came closer to cuddle her and give her a sloppy kiss on the cheek. Yuna didn’t understand why she felt like the kitchen was closing in on her, and why it was suddenly hard to breathe. 

Yuna could feel how warm Yeji was from sleep, like Yeji brought the comfort of her bed with her. 

“You okay?” 

“H-huh? Yeah, I’m- I’m good.” Her eyes were wide open, and she tried so hard not to look down at Yeji’s slightly parted mouth. “It just sucks.” 

“What does?” Yeji asked worriedly. Yuna felt bad for feeling uncomfortable for reasons she can’t fully articulate, but she somehow loved and felt thrilled at all the attention directed at her. 

“Umm… like, because I thought wine would taste nice. But it doesn’t.” She smiled as Yeji laughed.
