Jack: Michaela recognizes [trichomoniasis], and has this line, “I majored pre-med in undergrad, I still remember everything,” and I vividly remember us losing our minds at this line. We could not do this scene without breaking, because it’s such an absurd line.
Matt: It’s hilarious. And there were the times where we would laugh about something about Michaela like this, and [Aja] would kind of defend it, almost half as Aja and half as Michaela. She would be like, “Yeah, she has a great memory, and…” You know.
Jack: Yeah. I mean, for context, we—myself and Alfie, I think, especially—we immediately pointed out just the absurdity that someone would say that they majored in pre-med, and remembered everything from their studies. I mean, even for Michaela, that’s a crazy thing to say. Like, you’re totally right, that Aja—being the dedicated artist that she is—she’s just like, “No, this makes sense for Michaela, and I’m gonna make it work.” We made fun of her quite a lot, I think, for it.
Matt: Exactly. Did you catch my reaction in the background when she says that? The wide eyes.
Jack: Yeah, you sent me the clip, and I watched it. This brought me a lot of joy, like watching this on screen, I was transported back to that moment just of us all, you know, keeled over in stitches, laughing—
Matt: A running joke.
Jack: Yeah, you’re right. We called back to it for episodes and episodes. We’re like, “Oh, Michaela remembers everything. Why can’t she remember this? She remembered everything about pre-med, surely she would remember where her wedding ring is?”
