“How are you and Xinglong doing?” Yanjiang asked his doubles partner as they pack up in the locker room.
“Wait Xinglong from YuQing?” Desen cut in with wide eyes. “You guys are dating?”
Tienan then proceeded to glare at his doubles partner who could only give him a sheepish smile and a shrug as if to say ‘they’ll find out sooner or later’.
“Wahh Tienan, how could you keep this a secret from us?” Desen added in, slinging his arm over the slightly shorter tennis player. “How long have you guys been dating?”
Tienan blushed, pointedly avoiding anybody’s stare as he fussed around on rearranging his locker. “3 months.”
“Are you guys official then?” Desen pressed on before getting hit on the head by a cap.
“Stop embarrassing him.” Kefei said, putting his cap back on. “Just let him be.”
“But we’re friends, right? Friends should know these things!” The voice of Desen was drowned out by the fact that Kefei decided to physically remove Desen from the conversation by dragging his boyfriend out by the back of his shirt.
Tienan has never been more thankful for his cap-wearing teammate.
“Haven’t you guys been official for 3 months?” Yanjiang asked.
“Hey, as long as you’re happy, we’re happy for you.” Yanjiang smiled as he tapped Tienan on his shoulder.
Tienan sighed as he shut his locker close. He couldn’t help but return the smile. “Thanks.”
“Sorry, we’re closed.” Xinglong called out from the kitchen as he heard the doorbell ring.
“...Hi?” Tienan greeted shyly awkwardly.
Hearing that familiar voice, Xinglong looked through the kitchen window and broke out in a grin. “Tienan! Are you hungry?”
Tienan blushed as his stomach replied for him.
Xinglong chuckled. “I was going to cook a small meal anyways. Let’s eat before we head out.”
“Mmm.” Tienan replied in agreement as he placed his backpack on the chair and walked over inside the kitchen. “Do you need any help?”
“Ah, it’s ok. Lemme finish up the dishes then I’ll prepare the meal.”
Tienan smiled fondly. Would it kill his boyfriend to ask for some help? He placed on a pair of gloves and proceeded to hip-bump the YuQing tennis player out of the sink’s radius. “Why don’t I wash up and you start cooking? It’ll be faster.”
“Sounds good.” Xinglong smiled as he wiped his hands dry in a towel. “Thanks.” He leaned down to kiss the top of Tienan’s head.
The YuFeng tennis player felt his face fill up with warmth right down to his chest. “No problem.” He mumbled back.
Once the dishes were washed and dried, Tienan patiently waited for Xinglong to finish cooking, prompting himself on top of the counter. “How was your day?” He asked.
“Alright. Managed to finish training early today and avoided any Yan juice.” Xinglong chuckled as he moved around the kitchen. “How about you?”
“Yanjiang accidentally slipped out that we’re dating so now half the team knows.” A shadow loomed over Tienan. He looked up with Xinglong standing in front of him.
Xinglong rubbed the back of his head and laughed nervously. “Is that a bad thing?”
Tienan smiles softly. “No.”
“Good.” The YuQing player leaned forward and Tienan drew in a small breath. “Babe?”
“Yes?” He flushed, leaning up subconsciously.
“.. I need the salt in the cabinet behind you.” Xinglong grinned.
His boyfriend gave him the most deadpan look he could muster. Seriously? He leaned back against the cabinet door purposely. “Nope.”
Xinglong raised his eyebrow. “No?”
With a flush on his cheeks, Tienan replied with a mischievous smile. “Kiss.” He demanded softly.
Xinglong felt a warm flush down to his neck.
Impatiently, Tienan brought a hand behind his boyfriend’s neck and pulled him down for a kiss.
Recovered from his shock, Xinglong snaked an arm around Tienan’s waist and brought him closer.
Institinctively, Tienan wrapped his legs around the YuQing player’s hips as he deepened the kiss, running his other hand up the back of Xinglong’s shirt to touch warm skin.
Needless to say that the food did not get salted.
