Edge of Seventeen (2016)
a concept: an alternate universe where you find out how you die on your 18th birthday. all week leading up to it you’re so nervous, thinking of all the possibilities, unsure if you even want to know. Will it be a car crash? some kind of sickness or disease? old age run you down? you don’t even know which of the millions of options you would prefer. the day comes, you’ve just turned 18 and in your hand is the letter. the cover of the paper reads “you will die…” your breath catches in your throat, your heart starts beating faster. you unfold the paper and you read a single word. "loved." you feel yourself release the breath, your shoulders relax and a smile creep across your face. you will die loved. you couldn’t have wished for any better way to go.
