What’s the hardest thing for you to draw?

SCALE.

Like, I can eyeball anything with a fair amount of success, but making sure that every element works together proportionally is such a hassle. If you’ve got a character sipping from a cup behind a desk with a computer on it, you gotta make sure the cup is the right size compared to the computer, that your character has enough theoretical leg room under the desk, that the keyboard is correctly proportioned to their fingers, the list goes on and I go a bit nuts.

Your favorite music to draw to right now?

Oh man, lately I’ve been listening to a lot of instrumentals from Antoine Dufour. His playing style really makes me think of Douru, so I have a soft spot for it.

Otherwise, I’ve been listening to some more electronic dubstep/dance music cause it helps give me energy. Depending on the artist, something about the way it moves and shifts focus from soundclip to clip reminds me of the way I think about things.

Unfortunately Netflix in the US doesn't have the anime up as of yet - Bean, you must live in a country where they do! I am jealous. (There are ways to trick your browser into thinking you have an IP address for another country, but the only way I know how to do so reliably is with a VPN.)

C: What character do you identify with most? 

oh, shit. at this point, i don’t know? i mean of course your relate to all characters you write about, but that isn’t the same thing as identifying with them! i’ve never identified that strongly with characters, my faves rarely are that similar to me, or the thing i identify with is related to my flaws. out of the mp100 cast, that’s actually touichirou, though i’m nowhere near that extreme! and also dimple? in undertale, mettaton is probably the one i identify with the most? 

... actually, a hero i identify with is zack from ffvii. it’s not complete or that strong, either, but... still.

H: How would you describe your style? 

i like to think that my writing is evocative? maybe even vivid? to me it feels like this mix of like, mundane/funny coarseness and like that kind of heart soaring high up the sky feeling you get when listening to a good anime song. i tend to go with limited third pov, but also go with some stylistic dives into the pov character’s head. big on emotions with a side of having fun with words.

H: How would you describe your style?

I have two modes: tooth-rotting fluff and tear-your-hear-out angst. Sometimes they overlap into this weird gray area where everything is soft and everything hurts.

C: What character do you identify with most?

Depends which aspect. I don’t think that I’ve ever really found a character that I looked at and was like, “That Me!”

I grew up wanting to be like Katara, if that counts?
