Ahh thank you so much for asking me questions - apologies for the long wait for an answer.

I think I have a recent line that concluded my Hiragi & Kaji fic that I posted recently:

And when he dreamed, he dreamed of a soft smile and a warm heart and a boy who would give anything for his friends.

And it's just so intense and important to me for some reason? Because it's so telling of how Hiragi feels about Kaji but also Kaji's true personality. And it honestly hit me like a truck on my proofread.

atticus is a courier who delivers mail and fragile packages that one would not want sent over a remote SRP (send-receive point, a type of teleportation only for objects) for fear of it getting broken or read by someone else.

Hi Anmol! I wonder, could you tell me something more about The Scale of Dragons? The title is intriguing! Does it also take place in the same world as your other books?

Hi Hyba!

The Scale of Dragons is more of an idea than anything else if I’m being honest, but yes, it does take place in the Raynorverse along with my other stories!

One of the main plot points in the Raynorverse is that the relics are stolen by an Evil Queen so she can gain more power. The Dragonborn guard their relic very closely within the walls of a castle.

In this particular story, it follows the Princess of the Dragonborn who meets an unnervingly charming thief in the cellars of her castle who thinks he can steal the Dragonborn relic with the help of the Princess. Our dear Princess of course thinks he’s bluffing, but whispers in dark corridors slowly convince her otherwise.

Some of this story will have to be rijigged to fit the improved lore for the Raynorverse but the main themes of this will be betrayal, freedom, and maybe a coming of age note in there too!

Your ask has reawakened A Thing in my brain so I may do a proper WIP intro for it soon.

I'm working on a lesson on supernatural horror now and my background in international relations keeps showing because I'll automatically spell it supernational. It's not even a word, but that's my automatic spelling, haha.

Anyway, if you see the word supernational in the course, no you didn't.

Refining my 2025 plans

Now that my planner for the year is done, I'm going to use the method I shared in the Book in a Year guide to help me write and complete a fresh short story collection in 2025!

I'm a bit crunched for time this year. The first half of the year is going to be very full: hosting Scareuary, hoping to release my course, hoping to release a novel, and maybe some other stuff, too.

The second half of the year has a couple of (non-writing-related) educational projects that I began in 2023 and had to put on the backburner. It's important to get these launched for professional reasons, but at least one of them is going to be a huge time-sink because of the way it was conceptualized (pixel art is involved; lesson learned, but suffering shall ensue lol).

This means that I'm going to be writing 7-8 short stories, from scratch, for a collection I've been thinking about for years and which has become intimidating to approach, all in about maybe... brb while I calculate this on the Book in a Year guide lol.
