I was updating my profile photo when I realized I never introduced myself on this platform, so here’s a little about me. Hey, I’m Azalea Crowley. I’m an author, artist, astronomer. Okay, one of these is probably a lie. It’s the author part, you got me. I write quirky stories about classic movie monsters that are chaotic and funny. I prefer to call myself a Hybrid Author as my first book, Odd Blood, is a monster mash of Slow burn romance, dark comedy, and horror. You can imagine it’s been difficult to find my readers. That’s kinda why I’m here—I’m looking for weirdos like me who want a little cozy spooky in their life. My first book, Odd Blood, is a spooky story about a mixed Asian American woman who meets an actual vampire at a Halloween party. This vampire is a major Himbo, and abducts are MC so she can take care of his elderly vampire granny—granny vampire isn’t his actual grandma, btw. She just happens to be 70 something years old. Hijinks, romance, blood, and comedy ensue. When I’m not writing, I am marketing—which is why I am open to whatever Eldritch being that would like to body double for me. Please, I promise I’ll always have coffee for you as long as you do my marketing for me and make me appear approachable and not an actual vampire. Serious offers only. We haven't done a word of the week in a while due to the Easter break from University, so we have decided to do two words of the week this week...

Self-Publishing and Hybrid Author!

After our latest news article about Hugh Howey and his self-published status, we thought that these words would be fitting for our words of the week this week.  Hybrid Author describes an author who explores different ways of publishing their works rather than using a traditional publishing house, such as self-publishing.  Self-publishing is as it sounds: publishing your own work without using a traditional publishing house, and is becoming increasingly popular among new authors.

Its a good school.

 My best friend is awesome. Even though she isn't into all of the things that I watch she still tries to understand. We talk about everything.

4.Boyfriend/Girlfriend? Dating? Like anyone? (if you have  a bf/gf, tell me about him/her~)

 I don't have one, but I do have kpop.

 My puppy (adult dog) died a while ago. 

7.How good is your eyesight? (idk im curious ok?)

8.What do you want to be when you grow up?

 I want to write and do something with music comp.

 This is a hard question, I don't know yet.

10.How do you imagine what your new house will look like when you get married? (please don’t tell me im the only one who’s daydreamed about this…)

 I want my new house to have enough rooms for me to keep my plans. I want a full out kpop room and bathroom , a Harry Potter room, a music room for all of the instruments I play now and the ones that I wan tot learn, and a room to exercise in. So about five and a half, maybe six bathrooms. Oh and my bedroom and two guest rooms (probably what its really going to end up like).

  1. If you could go anywhere, where would you go and why?

I would travel to Japan, South Korea, China and England. I have wanted to visit Japan ever since I learned about it (manga and anime). For South Korea and China I really love kpop and would love to learn more about both cultures. England, because I love England. 

2. Do you have any strange phobias?

I am afraid of the Twilight Zone, but I think that thats only because I watched it when I was three. I'm also afraid of bugs, heights, clowns, and objects that could fall on me. I am also afraid of random loud noises. 

3. What’s your strangest talent?

Strange talent.... I play instruments and sing, but that's not strange is it? I guess... well I can fit in my dryer.

4. Smell the air. What do you smell?

Cinnamon toast

5.Do you have any nicknames?

6. What’s a song that always makes you happy when you hear it?

Ever After You by the Gabe Dixon Band and Baby, Don't Cry by Daesung

7. You can only have one of these things; trust or love.

Why can't I have both?! Um love, because don't you have to trust to love.?

8.Do you have any obsessions right now?

Yes, Kpop. Specifically boy bands and kdrama. And BBC.

9. Do you like the smell of gasoline?

Yes and nail polish.

10. What do you think about most?

music and when I make a mistake. 

11. If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be?

Big Bang, Tom Felton, Sarah Dessen, Missy Elliot, Default, or Hitomi
