i started this last month and forgot about it lmao

I think every msm fan especially ones interested in the lore can benefit from paying attention to the colossals and titans a little bit more than they usually do, but because they're not monsters they're not seen as important unfortunately and it's really sad to see because the celestials are cool n all but lore wise they have nothing going on compared to these guys.

indeed so! i feel like the only one people care about is zarroë, like they've all got their own personalities n stuff but they only focus on the ethereal colossal because of the whole workshop and islets thing

and regarding the titans: they're also affected by this, the masses only cared once the titansouls started (no shade to the titansouls! they're peak as hell! but it feels like the titans only started actually being noticed because of them)

and additionally for the titan skins: nobody cares about them because they're skins for the natural islands and that's it. no lore, no new song, nothing! they're just different looking natural islands without the coloss-eye

anyways about that personalities thing (click keep reading):

grennitch (plant) is basically a blassoom fanboy. am i exaggerating? probably idk. but anyway because of this muscially training blassoom went by very easily. i got nothing else there's not really much else on gren

frigil (cold) is a loner, introverted, one could say.. cold (laugh, now) and (to quote the coloss-eye bio)

"It was never easy for them to socialize or find common ground or shared interests with the others, to the point where being alone seemed like the most favorable option."

this also made frij and their assigned celestial glaishur basically polar opposites, but ironically they went together like ham and bread and they both learnt a lesson of "introversion is not unfriendliness" and "try and actually chat with the others ffs be yourself please i beg", very good lessons

zeffree (air) has a mech special interest. unfortunately they are not the mech colossal since zarroë was a greedy lil bitchard and took 5 celestials for themself anyways they wanted cyborgs and continuously suggested "HEY BECOME A CYBORG" to attmoz who was basically saying "there's already a celestial for that, what", said that imagination is superior, and then they made the air guitar and zeff learnt they are not the baseline for opinions

hyddryd is an adventurer. the wanderlust is off the charts. if bro wasn't a colossal they would go to wanderer island. therefore, the fact they were told to go train a celestial bummed them out because this was not adventurous at all

thankfully, hornacle (fun fact hornacle's my birth celestial) reciprocated! so they ended up doing ANYTHING BUT TRAINING (but somehow also nothing but training simultaneously. idk man)

sollum (earth) was basically the resident socialite but when the time came to teach torrt they became a little anxious. sure they could do their own thing and do that well, but inspiring another? you must be mad! "the celestial is levelheaded and easygoing though" "nahhhhh bro i'm procrastinating" so then they dragged sollum to do their job and it worked like a charm

can i do titans and the other guys in another post i feel like i've done enough typing already

Poseidon's Deal

Another vhenshun fic, this time about it, hyddryd and escaping.

Vhenshun can’t sleep today. The memory of finally seeing the sky loops in its head over and over again. That sliver of happiness, cruelly taken away. That sliver of hope, slipping out of its claws.

All it wants to do is take a nap, but it can’t. A caged bird unable to rest…

‘I want to spread my wings’, it thinks. ‘I wish I had some, so I can fly out of here.’

A bird without wings is no bird at all. So what is it, then? A set piece? A trinket?

What is it?

(What am I…)

“Seems like you’re having some trouble.”

A mysterious voice suddenly echoes around the room. An unfamiliar one, a sonorous one.

“Wha… who’s there?!” Vhenshun asked, taken by surprise.

But there is no one.

“Ah, you can’t see me, can ya? Uuu, I keep forgetting. Hold on…”

The physics of its room shifts. Something impossible is turning into a possible form the best they can. When they settle, they take on a form of… something vaguely aquatic. It’s hard to tell because of them glitching and fading in and out of reality. Most striking was their two bright purple eyes.

“How’s this? Can you see me now, Vhenshun?” The entity asked.

“I mean, I guess I can... Wait- how do you know my name?”

“I know everything about you and your friends. If I’m being honest, I sympathize with you all. Being trapped in a cage with no way out… I understand it all too well.”

“Do you now…?” The mech quad asked, half suspiciously.

“Of course I do!” The entity squeaked, leaning in forward. “I’ve been trapped in my own head for who knows how many millennia!!”

“Geez, calm down."

“Wha- hey! Uuu… fine.”

The entity pouted and stood in silence. After a while, the mech quad spoke up again.

“So, what are you, and why are you here? How did you get here, actually?”

“Oh, right! Where are my manners. I’m Hyddryd, the colossal of the water element and adventure. I was able to come here by suuuper secret methods, and I came in the first place to set you free!!”

Vhenshun, who usually was eager to hear chances at freedom, wasn’t excited. “Why does it matter? All that’ll happen is me getting sent back home…”

“Yes, that is a possibility,” the colossal said, putting their hand(?) to their chin(?). “But what if I tell you that I’ll protect you so you won’t be sent back?”

“And how will you do that?”

“Zarroë is concerned that your unstable soul will tear holes in reality. If that’s the case, then all I have to do is make you stable!”

Stability, huh… Is that the only reason why it’s kept here?

“Yeah, pretty much.”

“Gh- Stop reading my mind!!”

Hyddryd pouted again. “Uu, it’s hard not to though…

“A-Anyway, I can make you stable, but at a cost!”

“And what is this cost?” The mech quad asked, tilting its head.

“You see… I maaay have to rework your soul a bit in order to help you. After all, it’s what makes you unstable. All I need to do is patch it up, though your mannerisms may change. Are you alright with that?”

Vhenshun thought deeply. Its soul, huh…

What will happen if something bad happened during the process? Lots of things could happen. It could lose its memories, it could become even more unstable, it could die…

“Worried, are you?” Hyddryd noticed the concern on the mech quad’s face. “Don’t worry. I’ve patched up a soul many a time before! I have experience working with ethereals especially! So nothing’ll go wrong.”

The colossal took some steps forward and bent down, petting Vhenshun’s head.

“And besides… I know your desire runs deep. Are you seriously gonna let this chance slip by your claws?”

They whispered with a soft, caring voice. They care so much.

They care so much about Vhenshun, way more than its creator ever did.

They care. They care…

Desire. Dream. Wish.

‘I want to leave.’

“I’ll take your deal. I don’t care what happens to me in the process. I want to leave this hellhole of a workshop- I have to…!” Vhenshun declared, tearing up at the end.

Hyddryd knew it’ll go like this. Maybe they didn’t need to whisper after all, but it’s always a good idea to be cautious.

The colossal flashed a smile. “Hehe! Aaallrighty- oh! Want me to rework your friends too? They’d be sooo lonely without you! And as a bonus, I can make Whaill a follower of you~!”

“Yeah, do that. I want them to explore outside too.”

A deal has been made.

(I can’t believe it. I’m finally escaping!)

All the quad has to do is shake hands with Hyddryd.

(But why do I feel like I’m sinking in an ocean?)

It hesitates.

(Why do I feel scared…?)

“Don’t be scared now. This is a once in a lifetime deal, y’know~?” Hyddryd whispers yet again.

(I’m scared. I’m so scared. So why is my body…?)

They shake hands.

The room is flooded.

And Vhenshun is never seen again.

I like to think in order to carry zarr away from places they weren’t meant to be in the other colossals had to pick them up by the scrap of their neck

Some info about my versions of the colossals!

Colossal queen (Dulcettéa) and colossal king

Matriarch and patriarch of the colossal spirits

The oldest and most powerful colossals

Happily married

Although they dislike it, they can both be very stern if they need to be (especially when dealing with Zarroë’s antics)

Grennitch

Third oldest colossal

Very kind, would be the type to set a bug outside instead of killing it

Used to have very messy hair when he was younger. Once, he somehow got a whole ass tree stuck in there

Acts as a role model for the younger colossals

Frigil

Very skittish, dislikes large crowds

Due to their large stature, they can often come off as intimidating at first

They’re very kind to those they’re close to

Wants nothing more than to stay inside with a warm cup of hot chocolate

Zeffree

Second youngest colossal

Has no spatial awareness, used to bump into glass often as a child

Constantly creating some sort of gadget or gizmo for himself or others

Has trouble regulating voice volume

Hyddryd

nomadic, used to get lost or distracted often when they were younger

Easily distracted by shiny objects

In charge of keeping the bubblerite clay reservoir (now known as wublin island) far away from Zarroë’s grubby little hands

Is third in command if Grennitch or dulcettéa aren’t present

Sollum

Very active despite being the earth colossal

Very loud and disruptive, he does indeed ‘do the earthquake’

Can meld metal by eating it

Over all just a very cool guy, if you can handle the ground shaking with his every movement

Zarroë

Youngest colossal

Very intelligent and highly curious, this can cause a LOT of problems

Has way too much energy, especially for such a young colossal (this also causes a lot of problems)

Likes to bother the other colossals and ask them constant questions about what they’re doing

Once they start something, they will not stop until they finish it
