Hydrangea - A Little Rain Oracle
Bundled together, bushy and bright, hydrangeas are a popular choice for bouquets, floral arrangements, and décor, especially among the bridal community. The flowers dated back 65 million years and were initially found in Japan, and were later introduced to Europe through the colonisation of North America.
The flowers get their colour depending on the pH levels of soil. Acidic soil yields blue and lavender shades, and alkaline soil gives pink and red results. Just by changing fertiliser mixes, you can control and alter the colour of your flowers. Traditionally, the flower is considered a token of forgiveness and peace in its native land, Japan, but it’s in the duality of the flower’s colours that we find a lesson to be learned.
