First Impressions of Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel
I picked this product up at Walgreens yesterday because the cleansers I ordered from YesStyle haven't even shipped. Tragic, I know. RIP my skin. Forgive me K Beauty gods. DON'T take my glow for betraying you.
Costs ~$9 for 6 oz (170 g)
This product claims to boost hydration and remove makeup and impurities.
I would describe the texture as a lightweight gel consistency.
The product is clear and does contain fragrance. It smells like a candle that’s meant to smell like the ocean. The scent isn’t overwhelming and it does fade. I don’t mind fragrance in wash off forms, but I know others might.
It does lather once mixed with water. It’s supposed to remove makeup but I can’t prove this because I don’t wear makeup and I used an oil based cleanser beforehand. It did remove the oil cleanser.
I feel like it did effectively cleanse my skin. It did not leave my skin feeling dry or tight. It did leave my skin feeling clean and soft.
Pros:
affordable
accessible
effectively cleans skin
leaves skin feeling soft
scent is mild, calming
packaging is aesthetically pleasing
pump packaging
Cons:
contains fragrance
claims hyaluronic acid as main ingredient and it’s last on the list (according to my bottle)
Overall this is a good, basic cleanser it’s nothing special. I enjoy it and will happily keep on using it.
