🍉These are the crowning jewels from our winter buying trip come to our Live Sales this Friday and Saturday. You may have seen me post about this stone in the past when we had a few small Tumbleds and Cabs available. Having these very old stock, large free forms are a dream come true. What are they you may ask? They are Transvaal Jade, also known as Hydrogrossular Garnet. They come from Transvaal, S. Africa. We thought we would never see them again after we sold the small Tumbleds, however the Crystal Gods were with us. Extremely rare Hydrogrossular Garnet, also know as Transvaal Jade which more refers to the fact they are from Transvaal, South Africa and they use Jade interchangeably with stone. The pink is the rarest color. All are translucent. Videos of each are in our story. These are probably the last of this material we will have. This has not been producing for many many years. The last time we saw Hydrogrossular Garnet was 2014 when we purchased a few old sock pieces that were stolen by a cutter and was eventually retrieved by the original owners. While barrel diving this past year, I just happened to see this bag of old stock cabochons and snatched then as quickly as possible, as I knew I would probably never see them again! Needless to say, I was ecstatic.
