the lawn wasn’t the most unsettling place to be, though his skin still itched to be around less people, as it usually did in situations like these. he had gotten good at keeping it more under wraps, but the end of year activities and larger festivals and parties set him on edge, teeth gritted to keep his nerves in place. at least with the scary movie, he could be near his few friends, even if it wasn’t necessarily a good movie.
he and hyeju shared a blanket comfortably, the barely older idol one of his earlier friends made. despite being fairly closed off to others outside his own group, let alone his company, he and hyeju had become closer throughout the years — she was easy going, easy to be around, and at events like their current, yunho appreciated the more relaxed feeling she brought with her, especially with everyone so dressed up. the theatrics sent him further from his comfort zone, so it was a much needed break to be able to sit and crack jokes at a horror movie for a bit.
“she’s going to die,” he predicted, voice deadpan and not at all as quiet as it should have been, given there were others around them. “can’t be the final girl.”
