Explaining the love alarm characters and my opinions on them because Im writing a fic and I wanna share my findings

major spoiler warning for seasons 1 & 2!!

looking back on it, I can see why kim-jojo and sun-oh didn’t end up together. objectively they had little chemistry and the beginning of their relationship was extremely rocky with extremely questionable morals and actions on sun-oh‘s behalf. however, we did get to see their relationship grow, which was extremely refreshing compared to the very common love at first sight and instalove troupes seen in other dramas.

This is what drew me to the couple, being able to see them grow as characters and closer together. i loved the chemistry they created because even with a rocky start, they did grow on me. I felt like i was truly gowing with them, seeing Kim-jojo finally be able to stand up for herself, watching Sun-oh set boundaries, even if it was in an immature fashion.

This is why i took their breakup so hard. Everything that they had built together, the character development they created was all gone with a spur of the moment decision of kim-jojo’s part..

all of the character development she had went down the drain: the small amount of communication she had been able to utilize with Gul-mi was fruitles against the decision she made with Sun-oh. Perhaps this was because they were in different circumstances: Kim-jojo was under a lot of pressure, from Gul-mi constantly pressuring her to break up with sun-oh (although this was proven previously to have never been the stick that broke the camel’s back)

I did not approve of heyoun, i had always viewed him as a creep, just following Kim-jojo aound, being too much of a pussy to say anything; although on my most recent rewatch, Kimjojo seemed to be neutral surrounding him. She was aware of his presence and although she was oblivious to his feelings for her, she wasn’t freaked out or completely clueless as to the fact that he was simply there. This made me a little more inclined to look on his side of the crush, as i had previously been a sun-oh

bottom line is, love alarm is a pretty bad show, the writing for season 2 was shit, but I do love it with all that I am. And because I love it, i am taking measures to rewrite the aspects i disapprove of (bruh that sounds so pretentious i-) in conclusion, i completely respect your opinion whether or not you enjoy this show, it takes a lot off energy to love and i know that it’s not for everyone.
