Some character profile art wips for Hymir, Zephear, Uvaer, Alward, and Nirros.
Recently I've had the privilege of working with the fantastic folks of Atomic Broadcasting to create visual designs for the characters of their new production, "The Written and the Lost" and let me tell you it is going to be EPIC.
Here's the official description taken from their Spotify page:
A rag-tag band of misfits takes a routine job as hired muscle for a research mission and soon finds that they've unearthed something ancient and of dire importance. Soon, the party finds themselves in a race against time to stop a cult and solve a mystery older than memory itself. A quest to learn what is remembered and what is forgotten. A saga of the Written and the Lost.
The Written and the Lost is an actual play podcast using the Pathfinder 2E ruleset and taking place in the Lost Omens world setting. Join our rambunctious group of nerds every week for a new chapter in this original story with an emphasis on player-directed adventure and complex interwoven storylines.

Runetober Day 13: Cauldron
(following the woodland magic prompts by smalltownspells)
Today's picture is from Hymiskviða, and eddic poem about how Thor and Tyr went to Tyr's father, the giant Hymir, to fetch a cauldron big enough to brew beer for the gods. There is a bit of back and forth with completing impossible tasks and in the end, the giants are slain and Thor carries the gigantic cauldron to Aegir, the gods' party host.
The runes are Hymiskviða 39: (Crawford translation)
Then Thor,
mightiest of gods,
returned to Asgard
with the cauldron of Hymir.
And now the gods
drink good beer
every winter's day
in Aegir's hall.
In Old Norse:
Þróttöflugr kom
á þing goða
ok hafði hver,
þanns Hymir átti;
en véar hverjan
vel skulu drekka
ölðr at Ægis
eitt hörmeitið.
In runes:
:ᚦᚱᚢᛏᛅᚠᛚᚢᚴᛦ·ᚴᚢᛘ·ᚬ
·ᚦᛁᚴ·ᚴᚢᚦᛅ·ᛅᚢᚴ·ᚼᛅᚠᚦ
ᛁ·ᚼᚢᛁᚱ·ᚦᛅᚾᛋ·ᚼᚢᛘᛁᚱ·ᚬ
ᛏᛁ·ᛁᚾ·ᚢᛁᛅᚱ·ᚼᚢᛁᚱᛁᛅᚾ·ᚢᛁ
ᛚ·ᛋᚴᚢᛚᚢ·ᛏᚱᛁᚴᛅ·ᛅᛚᚦᛦ·
ᛅᛏ·ᚬᚴᛁᛋ·ᛅᛁᛏ·ᚼᛅᚱᛘᛅᛏᛁᚦ:
IF I WERE TO CONSIDER ANY OF THE OLD NORSE ENTITIES MY PATRON, IT WOULF MOST LIKELY BE ÆGIR!
WHILE I MAY NOT BE THE GIANT (IN MULTIPLE SENSES OF THE WORD) PARTY ANIMAL HE IS, I LIKE TO THINK THAT I'M A GOOD HOST, AND OF COURSE, ALL OF YOU GOOD FOLK FOLLOWING ME ARE MOST WELCOME TO MY LONGHOUSE FOR FEASTING, DRINKING, GOOD-NATURED FLYTING (NOTE FOR LOKEANS, DON'T DO IT LIKE HE DID IN THE LOKESANNA, IT'S JUST RUDE), AND GENERAL ENJOYMENT OF GOOD COMPANY!
OF COURSE, NOT SURE WHERE I'M GOING TO GET A MILE WIDE CAULDRON FOR BREWING ALE... MAYBE HYMIR HAS A SPARE!
