Wes's willingness to cooperate with Nabi was initially rooted in guilt more than any sort of belief in what she was saying
but once she backed up her supposed "desire to help" with actions by stepping between him and Greer (which is very brave in his eyes), he realized she meant it

oh the dynamic with whatever Wes thinks abt Nabi (from what you said so far he doesnt trust her and thinks she'll do whatever the fleet says) now that she explicitly said she doesn't want to hurt him, and even when she did read his mind, iirc Mel that had both Nabi and Mercury do it said it feels different if the person is not trying to make it hurt, so if Mercury has, not accidentally, done some psychic torture on Wes, he'd notice it feels different when Nabi does it and then wht will he think/feel about it
Wes has never personally had The Mercury Experience™, but if he did, he'd be aware that it's a lot worse than what Nabi's done.
Her powers are invasive, and can cause both emotional and physical distress because the person who the memories belong to are reliving them, but she's not as forceful as Mercury
It's the equivalent of being grabbed by the hand and pulled along at a sprint vs being grabbed by the ankle and dragged behind the other person while they sprint

ok so about the whole thing with Wes and Nabi, like i said in the DMs from Wes' pov he's been tortured by the fleet before and Nabi is with the fleet, thats basically all he knows about her for now, and when they threw her at hi and told her to use her psychic powers he didnt know she really doesnt want to hurt him, and if hes terrified of Greer seeing Nabi confront him would definitely be shocking, but now that she agreed to use her power again he could be thinking something like 'she stopped Greer bc she wanted to torture me herself' bc. he doesn't really know anyone there so he still has no reason to trust she doesnt want him hurt
he doesn't trust her, but he also doesn't believe she has malicious intent. Even though he was shaken up after her first psychic expedition into his mind, he could still tell that at the very least, she's not acting out of sadism
If anything, he assumes she's just been brainwashed by the Fleet and will do whatever they tell her, including hurt him
