~X~——;The last thing Neji remembered was blood, lost of blood, then darkness and freedom. Now he stood over a dead body, his hands covered in the blood of the man he had just killed. He had been awoken from his eternal slumber and wasn’t a happy camper.
He had attacked and killed the man that had brought him back before the man had gotten the chance to place a talisman on him and gain control of Nejis movements.Looking down at the body Neji growled slightly giving it a kick before heading over to the near by spring to wash the blood off.
“He had to go and die before I could find out just why he brought me back, or how long it’s been since I’ve been dead.” Looking down into the water Neji frowned at the color of his eyes, it was strange, seeing a darkness in the normally lavender color eyes. Shaking his head Neji got out the stream and decided to search the mans body to see if he had anything useful on him. Finding a few scrolls on how to bring back Neji, Neji tucked them away, planing on hiding them so that once he had things figured out, he would come back and read them.
Neji decided that instead of heading right home, he would travel and gather information before returning home. After all for all he knew returning home would cause a small war or something. He had no clue how many years had passed or how long he had been gone for.
Over the next few years Neji learned many things about what had happened. He found out Kakashi was the current Hokage of his home village, and that everyone was at peace currently, though he could only assume it wouldn’t last for ever. He had also found out that Kakashi would soon be retiring and that Naruto would take his place as the next Hokage.
Even though Neji was enjoying his freedom, not having to worry about his clan, or the threat of war, he did miss his friends and Hianta. Despite being free, Neji still felt empty on the inside, and that feeling is what caused him to start the long trip home.
It had been just little over years since he had been brought back, and a total of 6 since he had been killed. Neji knew there had been whispers and rumors about his return, about a man matching his description traveling the land, learning and watching the villages from afar, and that the moment he set foot in his village he would be whisked way for questioning. It was the middle of the night when he finally reached the gates of Konoha, and just as he had assumed, the guards quickly dragged him off and away to the Hokages tower where he spent the next few days at being questioned and interrogated. They had to be sure he was not there to cause trouble, or that he was not an imposter.
Nights came and went, and finally he had been allowed to return home, but his title as a Konoha shinobi had been stripped from him, something he knew would happen, and until a decision was reached, Neji was not allowed to leave the village. By the time he had been sent on his way. Neji knew the whole village had found out about him being alive, though his means of return was kept as quite as possible. Some speculated that it was the Edo Tensei due to the color of his eyes, others assumed he had been stolen from the battle field and healed up and kept tucked away. Though only Neji and the Hokage knew the real truth currently.
Heading to the Hyuuga compound, Neji was soon surrounded by members of his clan, all whispering and staring at him as he tried to make his way to the home in the back of the compound near the forest that was his home. When Hinata had hit puberty, his Uncle had him move back into the home that his mother had called home. It was a pain being so far from the main house as his job had been to watch over and spend most of his time in the main house, but it was quite and no one bother him out there. Finally he had reached the house. It had been left empty since his death, no one wanting to move into it, worried they would tarnish the memory of Neji, or be haunted by his soul.
Pushing the door open Neji looked around with a sigh. It was all the same, and strangely not dusty. He wondered if Hianta had decided to be the one the keep it clean.Shaking his head he made his way out back to the garden wondering if it was still doing good. Stepping off the deck Neji walked into the garden that he had worked so hard on when he was alive.
He was happy to see the sunflowers where still growing strong and growing almost taller then he was. Making his way to the center of the garden, Neji sat down on a large bolder soaking up the warm sun and the smell of the flowers. It had been so long since he had been in his garden, and despite knowing he should have gone to his friends, to his teammates, to Hinata-Sama to explain what was going on, and that him being back was not a joke, Neji decided to rest in his garden for just a bit longer. Though, before he was able to get up and leave his garden, someone came intruding on his quite time. He wondered if it was Hinata, or one of his teammates, or perhaps one of the 12 that he grew up with. Sitting up right, Neji looked past the sunflowers wondering just who was standing there watching him.
