ifi ever had doubts of hypersomnia: i got 9 hours last night and i feel dead inside
I just had the weirdest sequence of hypnagogic hallucinations. It was bizarre and unpleasant.
I'd been lying on the sofa, possibly napping, possibly just hypnagogic (I was hoping for hypnagogic when I let myself wake out), when my brain tuned in to my mother and brother talking in the kitchen. As usual, when I want to say something while I'm waking out, I apparently heard half the sentence and filled the rest in with hypnagogia (I checked with them when I woke up); I also thought that I was upstairs watching TV, rather than downstairs lying on the couch.
I hallucinated that I went to the top of the stars and called down, but they didn't answer me. I went to the bottom of the stairs and they still didn't hear me. Then it struck me that this is a common theme in my dreams - people ignoring me as I shout progressively louder - and I found myself back on the couch, realising that I had been downstairs the whole time, still waking out.
So I tried to get up, but I was too tired. Then I managed to sit up for a second, and called out to the kitchen again, before realising it was still a dream because there was no sound. I spent the next fifteen minutes trying to get up and go to the kitchen, sometimes getting there and starting to chat to my family before realising I was still on the couch. One time, I checked myself with a series of tests to make sure I was awake - sitting halfway up to feel my abs clench, going outside, etc.: sensations I don't generally feel while dreaming - but after several minutes of dream-time in which I was sure I was fully awake, I found myself back on the couch, not having even moved or made noise.
In several of the dreams, I got as far as explaining to my family what had just happened, which made them laugh. Then I'd be back on the couch. It was like playing a really crap video game in which you rarely get further than the first few seconds without dying.
tl;dr I hate waking out and I hate hypersomnia and my brain is a little shit that doesn't know what it's doing.
