I totally agree with what you're saying about KAT-TUN being perfect if they remained 6 with the relationship they had when they were 5. I'm glad some people still think the same :3
Right? I mean there was this period in 2010 where I rekindled my romance with KAT-TUN because they had come so alive for CHANGE UR WORLD and they weren't afraid to be tirelessly silly, they did dame na yoru and all sorts of other fun things they only grazed the surface of doing when they were 6nin. By the time CHAIN came out, their dynamic was so much fun; it was no longer a situation where 2 or 3 people talk while the others stand by and look jaded and disinterested. And yet, I see moments of what they were before; those rare episodes on CARTOON KAT-TUN where they just got so silly and so familiar with one another that it was impossible to feel scared about their future.
So yeah, honestly, my ideal KAT-TUN semi- AU-verse has now become (and if Levy from 2010 heard me saying this, she would've had a conniption fit) Jin leaves in 2010, comes back early 2013. Koki never gets fired and they reset as they are.
Now of course before I have the trumpets of 'the human condition' police come raining down on me, I am aware of the implications and impossibilities called into question here plus the fact that KAT-TUN themselves are and have always been ambiguous about who wants who around and why.
I don't know. I think I'm just really going through this crisis since I listened to 'Come Here' and heard the re-recordings of all the songs Koki was on. I know why they did it; I understand what would be at stake if they hadn't, but it was still a kick in the ribs tbh.
I'll just be here in my writing corner for now; living with my headcanons and feeling happy that 4nin have found a direction they want to take and that they intend to survive on as a group together as they are regardless of how much they've lost since 2010.

Basorexia - An overwhelming desire to kiss.He knew he shouldn’t want it, god, he knew that he should just walk away and forget about Kamenashi Kazuya. They weren’t even friends anymore - Jin had no idea why Kame kept invading his mind, even when he was nowhere in sight. But…when he could see Kame, it was worse. It was so much worse, because he could see what he wanted so desperately being flaunted before his eyes. Kame would lick his lips, bit them and stare at Jin through his eyelashes. Jin felt like he wanted the same thing as he yearned for. Just one kiss. A simple brush of lips. That would be enough to keep Jin’s urges at bay. If he could just kiss Kame once, he would have his mind back. What could possibly be the harm in kissing Kame just one time? No-one would take it seriously - least of all Kame. Maybe he would punch Jin for doing such a thing, but Jin honestly didn’t care. He just wanted to feel those soft, inviting lips against his own. Surely everyone felt that way, surely being kissed was nothing unusual for Kame? Jin didn’t understand how anyone could control themselves around Kame. Just one kiss. That was all he needed. One.

He wanted to sleep, he wanted to eat, he wanted to be able to sit down for more than five goddamn minutes. Sure, he enjoyed his work but, contrary to popular belief, even he needed breaks. He wasn't a damned machine and, even if he was, he needed to be able to take some time to himself to recharge his energy. But, his full schedule for the foreseeable future barely allowed him enough time to go home and shower, let alone sleep or eat a decent meal. Staring at his schedule, Kame found himself in a state of indifference towards the numbers and words thrown onto the page. He slammed his planner shut, throwing it to the other side of the room, where it fell behind a cupboard."To hell with it," he grumbled bitterly as he turned off his phone and headed towards his bedroom. Someone else could deal with the fallout of his disappearance. Kame was going to sleep.
