The Python’s Plot
[Features: sleep hypnosis (no wake up), a long induction (so be prepared to read!), mentions of ingesting (non-toxic nor harmful) venom, general snake themes and motifs, cuddles, and a gorgeous Gorgon]
Darling, perhaps you didn’t know this, but as a mob boss, I’m something of a…criminal mastermind (if you can call caring for those less fortunate a crime).
And oh, what a plot I’ve hatched!
You see, there are a number of my employees who, for one reason or another, simply cannot sleep at night.
Usually I’d track them down and assist them, but now I’ve come up with something better: a late-night lounge area, perfect for those who need a place to unwind.
It has everything one would need to drift off:
Sleepytime teas and snacks perfect for a midnight feast,
Cushions, blankets, and pillows of all shapes and sizes,
A shelf of some of the finest literature and poetry I could afford,
And, of course, the most important element of all,
Me. I’ll have a system in place that will tell me if the lounge has any visitors,
And once there is?
I’ll slide in to meet them
Dressed in the fluffiest robe in all of Benem,
The scent of lavender on my scales and skin.
I’ll look like Aphrodite herself,
But little would the tired soul know that it’d be Hypnos who’d slide toward them with a warm, knowing smile.
Imagine the scene, if you will.
You’ve had such a long day,
And that day is only stretching painfully onward into the night.
You hear of a new lounge that opened up just for insomniacs like you, and you figure, “What the heck, I might as well see what the fuss is about.”
A mug of tea and a chocolate or two later, and you’re face to face with who could only be described as a queen of serpents draped in pure softness.
Of course, you know who it is.
You’d recognize your boss anywhere.
Perhaps you tense up and stand at attention, a twinge of guilt in your eyes as the idea of the curfew springs into your mind.
I simply giggle at your display, sliding over and coaxing you back onto the spread of cushions and blankets you set up for yourself in the hopes you’d fall asleep, if only you had a change of scenery.
You see, darlings, I only set a curfew so that my employees could get their proper rest; a company can’t run smoothly if the workers aren’t taken care of, after all.
If someone can’t obey the curfew, then who am I to chastise them?
With a kind and perhaps sly glimmer in my eye, I’d ask you how long it’s been since you’ve been unable to fall asleep.
Regardless of your answer, I’d playfully fuss and fawn over you, suggesting that you allow me to help ease your mind.
An answer of no would be greeted by a handful of recommendations for good books to read and some choice drinks, followed by a wish of good luck as I leave you to your whims.
But an answer of yes?
Oh darling, that’d be music to my ears!
Now my master plan can begin,
A plan with one goal, a personal challenge of mine to see just how relaxed I can make someone feel, just how thoroughly I can melt someone’s mind into a puddle of pure bliss.
In order to achieve such an effect, the plan involves gaining the complete submission of the five senses, something the lounge and my fashion choices allow me to do with ease.
Allow me to explain,
Step by step,
How I would get you to surrender to me completely.
The first sense to subdue is taste. While your mind may drift to something intimate (you naughty little thing~), all this involves is creating the perfect tea blend with a secret ingredient:
My venom, pure and concentrated,
Nonlethal, per my design, and the perfect sedative, if the concentration is high enough,
A concentration the tea won’t have. I’m a fan of working for my results, after all.
All the tea will do is prime your mind and body for all that comes next.
The second sense to subdue is sight.
The process of such submission began the moment you saw me slide into the room in all my beauty. Such a sight immediately grabbed your attention and refused to let go,
A fact that becomes all too obvious the moment I hand you your tea and recline on the cushions across from you.
As you drink your tea, you drink in the sight of me.
From my scarlet scales to my deliciously dark skin,
Every feature stands out as if they were glowing.
You realize then that one feature is glowing:
My eyes,
In which waves of red and black dance and swirl in a spiral that beckons you and your thoughts into it.
Perhaps it’s the tea, or perhaps my eyes, but you feel a warmth spreading throughout your body, concentrating in your head and making it fuzzy inside,
So fuzzy in fact that you wouldn’t have noticed the feeling, if not for my pointing it out.
You see, as you were admiring me, I had been talking about the lounge itself and all its bells and whistles, but upon seeing that my venom had settled in, I decided to continue my plan,
And begin subduing your hearing.
Now, instead of hearing me ramble, you hear me speaking directly to you,
Commanding you,
Directing you to take notice of the warmth in your body,
And how that body is beginning to relax,
Your limbs getting heavier and heavier the more I speak.
So heavy and drained of energy that you can’t hold yourself up anymore.
But that’s ok, Because I’m here,
Ready to subdue one of the most important senses of all:
Touch.
I gently take your cup of tea from you and set it on a nearby table. We don’t want any spills, do we?
Then, with just as gentle of a touch, I ease you down so that you’re laying on the cushions and blankets beneath you,
Blankets and cushions that begin to shift to better cradle you.
You see, while you were focused on my eyes and my words, I slipped my tail under you and around where you’d inevitably collapse.
It’s this tail of mine that now wraps around your tired body, taking pillows and blankets with it to make the perfect nest for you to rest in.
Oh, how cozy the nest is,
And it only gets better as I lay down next to you and pull you close, holding you in my arms as well as my coils.
It is here that the final sense submits to me: smell.
Admittedly, it isn’t as important as the rest of the senses,
But it doesn’t hurt for you to take deep breaths, synchronizing your breathing with mine and inhaling my scent mixed with lavender. It only makes you feel all the more relaxed, after all.
And so my plan comes to fruition.
My eyes, drawing your gaze and attention,
My voice, guiding you down,
My venom, its taste lingering on your lips as its effects relax your body from within,
My aroma, almost a sedative in its own right,
And my embrace, keeping you safe from any and all of your troubles,
They all work together
In a swirl of hypnotic power
To put you into
A deep
Deep
SLEEP.
Rest well, my darling,
And thank you
For falling for my plan
Of mental domination.
