Now, now, is it drastic? While Charon might be prone to bullying his siblings (gently! as a sign of... brotherly affectionate antagonism, or something), he hardly dislikes them. They’re family, after all, and he is capable of approximately zero sincere ill will towards them (or anyone else, really).

Gaze fixes on Hypnos, something curious in the way the smoke curls in a thin wisp from between his teeth. “Shha-hrmm..?” Did something happen?, as it were. Not often that Hypnos would go to him without prompting. But, sure, if the kid (wait, no, Charon’s younger--) wants a hug, fine with him. After pulling Hypnos to float more at Charon’s already-looming height, though.

  @hypnos--s​  asked :  Eyebrows raise in greeting as he spots his favorite prince lugging himself from the bright red pool. Well.. his ONLY prince, really! Hypnos' lips curl into a lazy smile and he raises a hand to wave. "Hey! You know what tends to help in these situations? What the humans call the 'Five D's'. Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge. Dodging is important apparently!"

zagreus is quite used to the ( often less ) helpful advice hypnos gives him. ‘yes hypnos next time I will remember just not to step into magma when chased by a bunch of witches or flung into it by an explosion!’ if only things were that easy. 

so he isn’t too confused by hypnos coming up with a new grand advice for him. but this time. this time he will get back at the god. hand still dripping with the styx blood, zagreus just grins and suddenly ruffles the other’s sheep like locks making sure they look even less presentable than usually.

and with his usual grin, zagreus already starts talking “you know what tends to help in these situations? the humans call it the five Ds!”

“Where did you get these from?” There’s not much of a point in telling Hypnos that it’s not necessary to offer him food. It’s not like eating is necessary, which Hypnos is well aware of, and Thanatos is hardly one to dally about in things objectively pointless, which Hypnos is probably more aware if.

If he would count eating as pointless, that is, which Thanatos isn’t actually sure about his brother’s feelings on the subject.

Still, he’s trying harder to be openly nicer with Hypnos. (Not that Thanatos dislikes him! Just that ‘clearly nice’ is a difficult thing for Death to be.) So, sure. He’ll eat one. “... Tastes like seawater.” Is it... supposed to? Is that a good thing? Who knows.

❝  you seem to always show up when i’m passing through.  ❞   comes the more calm , sterner voice of the two brothers .  it isn’t like he cared too much  for when hypnos showed up however thanatos could be perceived initially as cold .  for now , the taller keeps himself hovering near the smaller whilst scythe relaxes within grip .       ❝  don’t you have your OWN work to do ?  ❞
