ALRIGHT SO, i don’t have the link to the original post but I saw a post here on Tumblr where someone stated that Enderwalk!Ranboo is still our Ranboo, and we’ve already gathered proof to know that Enderwalk!Ranboo is probably working with/for Dream. The Enderwalk is seemingly a very new thing to Ranboo, it’s not something he’s used to the first time we witnessed it and although I don’t think he’s said it outright, it’s very clear he doesn’t know how to deal with it.
So that means that Enderwalking is new: but why? The Enderwalk could have something to do with Ranboo’s powers, since they manifested around the same time, but that’s not my main point here. My main point right now is that Enderwalk!Ranboo and Ranboo are the same person, except, our Ranboo is not the real Ranboo.
Directing attention to this Twitter thread of Enderian Translations, you can see that the things Enderwalk!Ranboo is saying are actually not at all different to Ranboo’s regular speech. Enderwalk!Ranboo also seems to have the same memories as our Ranboo, retaining the same connections that Ranboo has with all of the server members, just, speaking Enderian in chat. But if we go all the way back a little, I cannot find the original clip but remember, that Ranboo was able to recall Dream telling him that he “trusts this state” of him more. Now, “this state” is a big hint drop to whatever could be going on, and I think this: Enderwalk!Ranboo is only just Ranboo without amnesia.
“This state” I think Dream refers to Enderwalk!Ranboo, because the truth is that Enderwalk!Ranboo works with Dream, so of course Dream trusts him more than our amnesiac Ranboo. Ranboo stated during the hallucinated prison visit that he would never help Dream--someone who has hurt so many people, when at the same time, he lives with Techno and Phil.
Dream and Ranboo, the real Ranboo, not the one we know who streams and regularly talks to us but I mean the Ranboo which we call the Enderwalk, are working together. We’ve seen enough, that they both have the same ideals. We saw Dream tell Tommy that all he wants for the server is peace, and that he claims to have done bad things but is not a bad person. You know who else is very strong on peace for the server? Ranboo. Also the fact that Dream is Ranbob’s idol supports this.

“Depending on what you considered good,” don’t tell me that doesn’t line up the exact way that Dream describes his ideology, but who would let Dream write that down in any history books? Who would let a villain who’s hurt so many people be remembered, when so far we know that Dream is the only person who thinks his actions are justified? Ranbob is Ranboo’s descendant, so it would make sense, that Ranboo would share Dream’s ideals.
So Ranboo and Dream are working together, but how do they keep it secret? What is the cause of Ranboo’s amnesia and this, I think I’ve figured out.
Sapnap’s stream where he passes on “a message” to Ranboo from Dream. The simple smile that instantly activated Ranboo’s Enderwalk. And now I wanna direct this to something else.
I’ve seen this used in multiple pieces of fiction, where a phrase or word is used to control someone and, I think that the “:)” can cause the Enderwalk to come into play, or in other words, “:)” is the trigger phrase that brings back Ranboo’s memories. The two use Ranboo’s amnesia to their advantage, making almost entirely sure that whatever they’re planning is never revealed unless one of the other speaks up. Dream would most likely be a little on edge with Ranboo, seeing as he is still a newer member of the Dream SMP, and assuming around the time Dream and Ranboo agreed he could be hypnotized into amnesia, Dream didn’t trust Ranboo not to go blabbing out their plans to someone.
So, hypnosis is the reason for Ranboo’s amnesia, and a team-up between Dream and Ranboo due to their similar morals is the reason for the hypnosis. Enderwalk Ranboo is the real Ranboo, with his memories intact.
TL;DR or maybe I’m just very confusing: Ranboo and Dream are working together, Ranboo’s amnesia is a hypnosis caused by Dream so that their plans stay secret. Ranboo isn’t used to the Enderwalk because it is not actually a natural part of him/his powers. The Enderwalk state is actually the real Ranboo, just without amnesia.
Of course there are still holes in this theory, it’s at least what I think might be going on :)
