I think a real dumb type of cancel culture that needs to be identified for what it is, but is perhaps only identifiable by people who are longtime users of Tumblr: people who have never been anything more in terms of “fame” than a username on a social media site whose opinions a handful of people took seriously, trying to drag a more genuinely famous person for having once been similar in the distant past.
