Hyppolyta choosing to not return to her daughter is just not sitting right with my spirit. I probably wouldn't be as bothered had Diana not just lost her father or was an adult. Yes George was gone alot and the parenting was done by Hyppolyta, but she chose to not return, because she didn't want to feel small anymore. I understand her needs to fly and be great,but she has a daughter she left behind. I really hope that she chooses to return if only to take Diana with her.
All of the beautiful black women represented in this episode...just Yes to all of it! It means so much to see black women being centered in stories around magic/sci-fi and just pure wonder. I'm really looking forward to rewatching this episode over and over again 🥰 seeing black women being strong (but not in the toxic positive way!!)soft and complex...it was just so powerful/beautiful/amazing! Also can we talk about how gorgeous/fine Ruby looked this episode????
